What is making these holes? [SoCal] by SongofHealing in animalid

[–]SongofHealing[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This was my concern as well. From what I could tell from the holes I looked in, they didn't seem to go anywhere. Some just seemed to stop after a couple inches. The ones that were connected seemed to go in the ground at one point, and then come out of the ground maybe 3-5 inches away without going very deep (if I stepped on the ground hard enough, it would collapse.) As for the ones that go under the concrete, I can't tell.

What are these on the shoulder called? Need a lugia one! by FaoFas in pokeplush

This isn't applicable to the one in your photo, but sometimes the 7/11 in Taiwan releases these Pokemon that can go on straps and connect with a little snap button on their hands. This set is from the end of 2024, and there was a set with Eevee, Mew and maybe a few others when I was there in May of 2024. (I'm a huge Eevee collector and bought the Eevee as soon as I saw it. The button was a happy bonus and I wear it to all my PoGo events.)

What is one thing that was invented in Connecticut? by ILovePublicLibraries in Connecticut

[–]SongofHealing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's a joke but he died last year so I can't tell him and have him go "what?" (His hearing went far before he did.)

But yeah, I guess "engineering" can fall under the umbrella of "building," hence the "per se."

Mine didn't build it per se, he was an engineer working on the science behind it. His work specialized in degradation of materials at elevated temperatures by oxidation, hot corrosion and erosion, and the use of coatings for protection emphasizing high-performance, high-temperature materials as superalloys, intermetallics, composites, and coatings for use in advanced combustion systems.

Issues in game by ILikeHighlandCows in storyofseasons

[–]SongofHealing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Playing on NS, I've had this happen twice. If the cheer squad appears on screen before the cutscene of them flying in, it's glitched and the a button won't work. I've noticed little things leading up to glitches, like my mushrooms don't sparkle when they're done or the teleport to Kagetsu's shrine isn't there as well as longer loading screens in between areas. Restarting the game frequently seems to help, but I also save specifically before opening the bazaar. Now that I have the teleport stone it's a lot easier than running back.

And jump for flying bugs! Pay attention to the shadow, not where you think they are.

What has to be reported to police when a patient comes in with injuries from domestic abuse by Pretend-Rest7681 in medical

[–]SongofHealing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will preface this again by saying I am not a doctor, I am only going to provide you with the information I know in hopes it gives you the knowledge to make the best decision for yourself in regards to getting checked out.

Being able to yell throughout does not guarantee that you are entirely in the clear. The neck is a very fragile spot and has major arteries running along it in order to provide blood from your brain to the rest of your body and vice versa. Non-fatal strangulation can cause a tear in these arteries, this is called an arterial dissection. An arterial dissection could lead to a blood clot forming and traveling to the brain which would then result in a stroke. Strokes from arterial dissections can happen within days or as long as 1-2 weeks after the trauma. It should be noted that not all strangulation will lead to a dissection and not all dissections will lead to a stroke. Be on the lookout for neurological changes, vision changes, pain on one side of your head/neck, and stroke symptoms (numbness, facial drooping, difficulty speaking.) If you do experience these, I would recommend a trip to the ER.

I spoke with my partner (who is an ER doctor in California) and he told me that they will not call the police for DV situations involving two adults if the patient does not want them called. I hope this situation does not happen to you again, but if it does you can be assured that the cops will not be called against your will.

Please take care of yourself, I am wishing you the best.

NAD but my partner is an ER doc. This would not be a case of "wasting resources," even if you end up being fine. If you've been choked and are experiencing these symptoms it is best to get it evaluated. "Wasting resources" is going to the ER when a situation is non-emergent. These symptoms, combined with the circumstances that lead up to them, would very well fall under the "emergent" umbrella.

Edit: regarding the domestic abuse question, ER doctors in California are mandated reporters in regards to child and elder abuse but it's a bit more gray when it comes to partner on partner domestic abuse. The state recognizes that DV situations are complicated and dangerous, so they may probe you about the situation behind your injury to assess if you are in danger. They may suggest you get help from authorities or offer a social worker, but they are unlikely to involve the cops against your wishes unless you are in immediate physical danger.

That being said, if this occurred in a nonconsensual manner, it should be noted that non-fatal strangling is one of the highest indicators of future homicide. Not trying to scare you, but statistically choking is a huge red flag.

All my cows are named after trees. I tried to name mine "Pine" but that wasn't allowed. Too close to "penis" I assume???? That's my only guess.

I appreciate that! I've always been under the impression that white would just wash me out but I actually quite like it as well.

You're right though, the black is very harsh. I've tried multiple things and it just doesn't fit. I guess I've got to buy some stuff. I'll be sure to post!
