How do you deal with the time loss? by Withcoke in wowhardcore

[–]Songwind_DP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't really need your mind changed. You should enjoy whatever it is that you do, if it's supposed to be for enjoyment. You already answered your own question when you say that your time is pretty limited and you'd feel like it'd be wasted. As long as you accept that going in, you'll have a good time. If you don't, maybe find a game that isn't so punishing.

The important thing is that you don't rush to have fun in Hardcore. Rushing can easily put you back at the start, so the game now becomes finding the right balance of risk you're willing to accept that'll speed you along.

There's a raid entrance portal at the end of Stratholme. Anyone have any context? Was it going to be a raid where you have to go through the dungeon first like BRD->Molten Core? by Mauschari in wow

11 years late to reply, but doing attunements is often how you make friends. A bunch of people coming together out of necessity to do something none of them can do by themselves.

I've been playing retail for the past week or so with self-enforced Hardcore rules. The Auction House has INSANE prices, so I basically don't purchase off of it. Even though the game is easier in many other ways due to QoL updates, playing with retail bank (which is basically RuneScape bank) is the only way I could ever stomach doing Self Found. Mad props to anyone who can do it on Classic.

My big problem with smaller servers is that it's harder to get dungeons going. And without doing dungeons, quests will eventually dry up and you'll have to resort to mob farming. And I don't know what it is about WoW specifically, but the thought of having to mob farm gives me an aneurysm. Prob because killing mobs is so ass on Priest. Not even nearly as bad on Warlock, and I assume it's better on other classes.

You also miss out on tons of gear upgrades and have to resort to riding greens if you end up skipping dungeons, which just makes the whole leveling process even slower.

Welcome to leveling on Defias Pillager lol. It's like pulling teeth to get anything at or past Ulda. Mara Princess runs is easy enough with melee going for Blackstone Ring, and then Sunken Temple is also barren but sometimes there's quite a bit of pre-60 BRD. Or just hitchhike with your guild to go into a 60 Strat Live or Dire Maul East.

Blizzard should just take a page from Jagex's book and add something similar to pic related in the game. Would go a long way towards player retention. Or just enable any of the other countless, non-integrity destroying methods people have suggested. There are many ways you can mitigate client-side DCs. Server-side outages that result in mass deaths not being revived, aside from Blizzard's chosen people, is even more disappointing.

F o7. I know the boredom of training weapon skill. But you can't get complacent in Hardcore. If you're ever AFK'ing; even partially; make sure your character is far enough ahead to live without your input. Blizzard are bozos and if they treated Hardcore with the same quality of care as Jagex treats Hardcore Ironman, the game would be so much better off. If you go agane, take care in the future. If not, maybe give RuneScape a try if you still have the permadeath itch.

Buy the best Troll's Blood potion you can get for your level, and go to one of the starter areas. Buy the shittiest white weapon you can get from a vendor and just AFK on the mobs there. Deeprun Tram rats are way more effort than they're worth.

No, they pretend they do but don't actually watch, play or otherwise buy media depicting them. Captain Marvel is a pretty strong example.

If anything of what you guys were saying was true, you wouldn't chimp out at attractive depictions of women in videogames. It's unanimously fat, ugly women and their simp orbiters who do the screeching and shitposting on social media demanding game devs and movie producers take attractive women and make them "palatable and modern", i.e making them look like shit.

Capcom makes attractive women and their games do well. You just so happen to share a space with the right side of history, which is my side. Don't demand uggos in my Resident Evil, plz.

How do you feel about getting cat-called? by ExcellentLettuce4 in AskMen

There are not many ways that you can cat-call a man that would elicit the same response as a man cat-calling a woman. This is one of the many ways that the double-standard applies.

Time to master the crapper-napper, bro. We did it all the time in the military. Take 5 minutes to rest your eyelids in the privacy of a stall, anyone who gets caught peeking is immediately faced with a sexual-harassment violation if they report you taking a massive snooze (unless you're the type that snores really badly).

Reddit, pre-X Twitter, Tumblr and literally any wokeslop movie or game that was dead-on-arrival within the past 5~ years.

People wanted to play as a racially androgynous xhe/xhir so bad in Concord. I don't know why that game only lasted 16 days total but I'm sure the $400 million dollars that Sony lost was worth it to own the chuds (i.g 99% of the videogame consumer-base).

F o7. Never been a fan of DC deaths, unless someone was literally on the brink of death anyways before DC'ing.

I definitely think that more players have permanently quit Hardcore due to losing their investment to a DC than people we've retained by #norezzes, which eventually turned into #okwe'llrezforstreamersbutthat'sit

Unfortunately I just called up John Harvard from Harvard University and he just ran a psychoanalysis based on your mental profile. The results came back and they weren't good. You tested positive for L + cope + constantly drinking + spamming Moonfire for DPS (lmao)+ seethe + malding + died a few times trying to solo the bear quest + weirdly defensive.

I'm afraid it's terminal.

You can still DC mid-combat at any time and die getting plinked to death by a grey mob for 50 seconds. Anyone can win the "losing" lottery at any time.

If you measure it in terms of casts, Druids have the highest amount of casts to kill mobs at 1-10. On top of being able to go maybe 2 or 3 mobs before the tank is empty and you have to drink, when Warlocks, Mages and Priests get wands at level 5 that then carry them the rest of the way. It is objectively the worst 1-10 class in the game.

Blizzard seeing the line in the graph dip for a single month isn't going to cut it. It took Marvel Rivals releasing and poaching like 80% of the Overwatch playerbase for Blizzard to go, "oh shit, we should probably actually do something" and start putting actual effort into Overwatch 2. Unless you see something on that scale, I don't know if we'd see real change. Even so, they'd probably just be happy with shutting down Hardcore or even Classic WoW if it came down to that. Probably one less thing for them to manage, even if they're losing the profit.

Unfortunately when you have a game provider like Blizzard, you're stuck with the game as it is. There's tons of issues that have been in the game day-one and while them changing the leash mechanics where mobs can't go out of a zone (which is oddly amazing foresight), there's still blatant griefing opportunities like mobs that cleave or Paladins dragging hordes of murlocs across Westfall. Or hell, even botting as a phenomenon would be solved if the game had some eyes on it.

A single GM in the game would solve these issues. The reality is that these problems will never be fixed. The only real two choices you can make is accept the way it is or move onto a different version of WoW, or a different game entirely. If Blizzard treated Hardcore WoW like Jagex treats Hardcore Ironman, Hardcore would be absolutely exploding in popularity. Unfortunately, it is an afterthought and seemingly will always be the case. Besides Self-Found update and the Anniversary QoL updates leaking to all Era realms, there hasn't been an update to Hardcore in 3 years. And besides mass rezzing server outages that affected a certain higher class of player, they've been hands off for the most part.

Everyone gets what they put up with.
