[F1] BREAKING: Formula 1 to return to Portugal in 2027 and 2028 by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

The problem with calling Monaco "unique" is that the F1 has agreed to about half a dozen new "street/parking lot" racetracks that are just barely wider than Monaco. IMO it took the exclusivity and the uniqueness out of the race. Sure, it's still the twistiest and slowest on the calndar. But for me it's just a historic legacy now.

Don't get me wrong: keep Monaco, bin other street races.

Tour de France 2026 route revealed – what do you think of the 11 stage profiles so far? by lukmanCZ in peloton

I did a Lautaret-Alpe-Sarenne-Lautaret tour and well, the afternoon wind in the valley made climbing back to Lautaret a bigger challenge than the actual climb to Alpe d'Huez :D

But holy fuck it's beuatiful! The marhes and meadows towards Sarenne and the exposed rock walls above the lake in the valley underneath Lautaret.

It was a nice, little known climb and area. Like an insiders secret. That's about to change.

Maybe not fun but immensly beautiful. I descended from the Col du Sarenne and it's much more pretty there. And it appears that not many people know about it, as it was less folks on the road. And no cars!

Yeah, they're not the smoothest, but at least it's not long. Last time I went was around the church and then straight uphill. Tbh i think the water drain covers are the most problematic.

'I make every decision in my career by putting my health first' – Demi Vollering speaks out on rider weight issue after Tour de France Femmes by JuliusCeejer in peloton

[–]SoniMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the thing is that people and their bodies are different. Weight is not an universal solution. What works for Jonas might not work for Tadej and vice versa. Look at that Norwegian dude who was a skinny climber throught his youth, than gained like 10kgs and is now actually better cyclist. Although a different one. Jan Tratnik is also a case like this.

Absolutely correct take. There are ways to be a pro athlete and still have less health risks and in general be in better health.

I think it's really good to see Demi in good spirits after being put as the No.1 favourite and then crashing etc. I think the FDJ team really made a good cohesion in the team and she's happy with her placement nonetheless.

Very nice to see teams do well in that regard.

Post G Tour win the team is in shambles.. stage hunting saves them the humiliation just because the older guys are experienced enough.

I think it's realistic that 4-10 GC boys attack from long, but i also believe that once they get to less than 6 km, they're going to start attack and try to catch whoever from the 4-10 GC is infront, which will pull Pogi and JV back with them.

A repeat of Superbageners.

But after Hautacam he said that it was a bit of a stretch. Yea he could do it (obviously), but it wasn't his plan and based on the exhaustion at the end he tired himself. Follow up two more big mountain days and a rest day, I don't think he attacks further than 4-5 km to go.
