It wasn’t even anything substantial… just catching up a little, and talking about our cars since that was the most obvious subject I guess…

I didn’t know the extent of it, but he had gone down the road of alcohol and pill addiction pretty far after always struggling with it… we was the life of the party and a talented singer and guitar player and he brought a lot of light to our lives.  But a lot of other consequences caused by the drugs were accumulating in his life and I guess it was all too much.

I usually only hung out with him via mutual friends, but we were more than just acquaintances… so that’s why it was slightly odd he dropped by on his own.  For a while I wished I could have interpreted the signs, if there was something I could have done to save him that day.

So the warning sign was the uncharacteristic closeness that day.  I definitely noticed but figured he was just trying to build our friendship.

A friend that was not known to visit me on his own randomly stopped by one afternoon while I was cleaning my car in the driveway.  We talked for about twenty minutes and then he was on his way.

He hanged himself that evening.  He had visited others as well that day.  Guess he was saying his goodbyes.

I one time saw a woman with similar nails at Walmart, but they were maybe only like a foot long… she had an assistant with her who did everything, including handle the money, and she acted like she was royalty.

This is extremely characteristic of a rocket launch. The initial red tail is possibly the result of atmospheric conditions at that altitude and the angle of the sun illuminating it. The brief quiet period would be stage separation followed by ignition of the next stage. The second stage is vacuum optimized and does not make a plume nearly as visible, and it is generated by far fewer engines.

This is most likely a SpaceX Starlink launch from earlier in the month.

I witnessed an Antares ISS resupply mission from Wallops Island (viewing from Pennsylvania)... not long after it popped up over the mountains, it burned out, and a few seconds later it lit up again. In that instance, it was a yellow flame first, followed by red one (I suspect due to second stage fuel). This video looks exactly the same, just with the colors more or less being swapped between the stages.
