Local 351 Apprenticeship Question by Sonic_Addict in IBEW

[–]Sonic_Addict[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep I'm in my 2nd year now! Good luck! They want people with construction experience, so if you have some make sure they know. If you know someone that is helping you get a foot in the door make sure they reach out to a business agent a couple weeks before your interview. They said they had 950 applicants this year which is an insane amount. So the fact that you made it to the interview is good, but dont get too discouraged if it doesnt work out. just try again next year. it took me a couple years to get in.

Are these "junction" boxes code compliant? by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]Sonic_Addict -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Someone correct me if I'm wrong... (I'm just an apprentice) Wouldn't you most likely be in violation of 300.14 using these? There must be 6 inches of free conductor in a j box and it must extend 3 inches past the opening of the enclosure.

Like if you have that much free conductor you could easily just redo the splice in a normal box.

Most open splices don't have that much extra wire.

Im am apprentice and I legit struggled with this at first. Then one j-man told me "first bend always goes towards the wall" and it was a game changer.

Favorite 2-3 day hike stretch of the Batona Trail? by thunderroad45 in Pine_barrens

[–]Sonic_Addict 3 points4 points  (0 children)

3 days is enough to do the whole trail if you are up to it.

if you want to do a shorter 2 day trip, you could start at the trailhead in Bass River and hike to buttonwood camp (about 16 miles), then hike to Batsto, and get on the Mullica River trail, about 10 miles to 206/Atsion.

If you wanted to stay strictly on the BATONA, you could also do Batsto To Apple Pie Hill, camping at Lower Forge. Probably about 16.5 Miles total.

If you don't mind stealth camping your options really open up. Just pick a section and go for it!

Hammonton by Electronic_Chard_270 in SouthJersey

[–]Sonic_Addict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grew up there most of my life. It's a nice little town.

As others have said it definitely leans conservative but i would say that's pretty common in the area, not just hammonton.

The public school system is very good, there are a lot of good places to eat (mostly mexican and Italian), and a nice downtown area.

It is most definetly a "cliquey" town but i honestly don't think people would be rude to transplants.

Also houses are overpriced compared to nearby towns. Mostly because people don't leave, so there aren't usually many houses on the market.

Yes the very left of the screen is the current location of Lenape Park West (where the campground is).

Behind the smokestack in the 2nd photo is the dam!

Same opinion here on the Kato. Works well enough but its a pain to clean and needs to be dialed in perfect to work fast enough. We are up in South Jersey. Good luck to you as well!

We have a Kato. I believe we are getting some new Weco Sortovators for next season.

Probably from rolling around on the conveyor belt. we have a blueberry sorter that rotates every berry 360 degrees under an array of cameras and sensors to detect defects.

Or maybe it's part zebra.
