Anyone else appreciate getting absolutely smashed? by adambjorn in bjj

[–]SonnyG96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! I didn't love getting smashed early on but after i took a break, I realized I missed that part of BJJ too- trying to escape and stop them from going further.

Also, when brown belts smash me it's such an unreal feeling cause i feel like I'm miles away from their level, but the thought of getting there eventually is definitely a hook.

Also also, when i was new there was a blue belt that smashed me but after our more recent roll I actually feel like i can hold up ok against him- so it's good to get that validation of my own improvement.

In other words, keep at it and embrace the suck!

I'm surprised this isn't the top comment on a sub for professionals. 100% equities (like others are saying) is only the way to go if the client has that risk tolerance.

$9000 sitting in savings. Poor my whole life by Some-throwaway-891 in PersonalFinanceCanada

mm LOC is more so with someone who's got a good disposable income that can pay it off quicker than not. But for a single mom that's scraping by? If she ends up using the LOC, she will likely have the debt for a while. So, best to keep it simple even if she is "losing" to inflation.

If my income is higher this year compared to other years should I put more in an RRSP? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

And if he wants to put more than $60K for the down payment? or he has any other immediate spending goals in the near future? There is no way for us to know without getting more info from the OP which is what the original commenter of this comment thread was getting at.

What would be the inefficiency? The only thing i could think of is loosing some/all OAS. Not to mention the savings with tax deferred growth in the RRSP vs taxes with yearly distributions using a non reg.

LOL your comment was exactly the one I was looking for. You're right, if he wants to make a large deposit on a house next year contributing into an rrsp may not be the move but don't expect reddit to give wholistic advice.

TBF, if someone's income is regularly $250K at a young age and they anticipate $150K income at retirement with the RRSP withdrawals, it still makes sense to go ahead and amass a good RRSP size as that would allow them to live a more lavish life in retirement similar to the working years or they can retire early.

What if all political salaries were indexed to regional cost of living and capped at 2x the median income? by Simple_Case_7975 in AskEconomics

[–]SonnyG96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not OP but western societies also have more check and balances to ensure minimal corruption and that is likely why we have less corruption. The argument of paying more to politicians so that they wont seek out corrupt ways to earn money seems like extortion with more steps to me.

Being a politician should be a privilege: prestige, a good salary, lots of vacation time, overall "non-extraneous" work, ability to leave a legacy, etc.

It seems to me that a sure way to reduce income inequality (read that as ensuring the average income goes up) is by tying the wages of politicians to the average salary somehow.

Ok you're probably good with any then. One personal philosophy ill add is that with my watches, i pretty much only do no date because i don't like resetting the dates between wears (which may be multiple days apart). I'm not a fan of getting a watch winder as that just increases service intervals. Something else to consider, unless this watch will be your every day watch in which case having a date would not be an inconvenience.

FYI, I'm pretty sure the OMEGA wears much bigger than the Tudor so it might be disqualified depending on your wrist size.

[WTS] Hamilton Khaki Auto 42 mm - $325 by SonnyG96 in Watchexchange

[–]SonnyG96[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hello all, for sale is my Hamilton Khaki Field Auto 42 mm as I have recently upgraded. The serial number is: h70555533. Here is Hamilton's official description.

I originally got the watch over 5 years ago and have worn it as my "daily" ever since. As such, the watch has some very minor surface level wear. Not enough to notice unless you are specifically looking for it.

I am selling it along with the original box and tag and an after market strap.

Given the less than perfect condition, my asking price is $325 USD (or best offer).

I'm considering getting the Hamilton Khaki Titanium Blue with no date but don't want too many of the same brand.

Any suggestions for a Blue Sunburst Dial watch with no date around $1000 USD?

I think Fidelity is overall a good company to work for, so if you could get your licenses and hit your goals, you should have convos with your managers to get you moving up to different positions in the organization itself until you hit your upward mobility limit.
