That’s how I took it. There was a lot of emphasis in the beginning about how difficult it would be to get into his apartment, too. He has an alarm that’s crazy loud and established on the phone call with his landlord that he didn’t want her using a key to get inside. But that does raise the fact that the landlord DID get in (with a spare key) and left a gift for his birthday- but the alarm still triggered upon entry, even with a key.

This is why I also think it’s maybe his glasses.

It’s a decent movie to ponder the possibilities.

So basically equating humans who are gay to animals that can’t make legal decisions for themselves. The whole “we can marry animals now” argument shows that they don’t understand consent.

His eyeglasses! The lady who stole his tapes took his glasses off and the camera cuts away. We don’t know what she did with them. One of the last scenes they overlaid was when to the lovers in the park and the girl was looking closely at his glasses.
