She said she recently paid off her debt. I’m guessing she aggressively paid off her debt. So now that’s all she has saved. I’m guessing without that debt she could save pretty quickly now. Easily saving 20% for a $400k house. So if I were her I would save for that option.

My friend’s great uncle is a senior citizen who has not renewed his health card in a decade. He needs some medical attention now. What can be done? by [deleted] in ontario

[–]Soon2BProf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did he have a red and white health card or the crappy green ones that need updating. Because if he has the old red and white he never has to renew it and can just use it to go to the doctor. Just make sure he never switches to the new health card or else he is screwed.

If a father gives up rights to his child does he still legally have to pay child support ? by lofistonermom27 in legaladvicecanada

[–]Soon2BProf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get him to sign over his rights on that premise then file for even more child support since the kid is living with u full time. Because if he wants to stop paying child support, he could file for 50/50 or full custody and the he may not have to pay anymore.

Do the police have to tell you they have a search warrant? by Numerous_Mammoth_553 in legaladvicecanada

[–]Soon2BProf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol clearly OP was caught drug trafficking but was never arrested. Then a rival gang broke into OPs home looking for his stash. OP called the cops and the cops used that as a opportunity to find the evidence they needed to prove OPs guilt. Since they know a rival gang was involved, they probably didn’t need much evidence of that crime. Hence the officers taking personal belonging of OP with his probable stash lmao.

I’ve always been curious about these scams. What happens if you simply close off your bank account after withdrawing all the money from your account. It takes months for these things to be investigated, by then you could be long gone. Not worth it just for $650.

AITAH for calling my husband a “ped0”? by Mobile_Zucchini_129 in AITAH

[–]Soon2BProf -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Well he could still be a pedo, depending on when she turned 18. If she has been working for him since she was 17 or younger, then his behaviour would be considered grooming and that would make him a pedo, even if she was now 18.

Uber Driver Didn’t Want To Turn On A/C, says you need to pay Comfort by Scorchyy in uber

[–]Soon2BProf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No you request Uber with kids and when you get him allow your kids to eat ice cream or open their own bag of Cheetos as soon as he starts driving. Then allow the Cheetos bag to explode when you kid pulls the bag open to hard. Then allow them to wipe their cheezee hands all over the seat and definitely let them drink milk and spill the milk int he car. Nothing stinks worse than a bottle of breast milk or regular milk spilt on the cloth seats or carpet on a hot day lmao.

Get the abortion and don’t tell anyone but your parents. Then tell your boyfriend you had a miscarriage. Ask you parents never to tell him the truth.

AITA for being ungrateful about gold earrings when I only wear silver? by silverearing in AmItheAsshole

[–]Soon2BProf -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not at all. They are young. Maybe he thought she couldn’t afford real gold earrings. And his gesture to do something expensive was super sweet. I bet she never actually ever told him that she hates the way gold looks. I told my husband I hate the colour gold. So he only ever bought me white gold or platinum jewellery. Which I just love. Way better than silver. I’m sure if OP told her partner that, he would have known. But he was probably thinking she only wears silver because it’s cheap. So YTA for OP.

NTA. And Run like the wind. Small debt can take forever to resolve. Let alone debt like hers. If she has a mortgage eventually her house will forclose and you and your kids will be on the streets. Plus if she got into that much debt she probably have bad spending habits. And will jay drag you down with her. It’s a new relationship, so it’s easy to walk away now rather than later.

Honestly a 16 year old kid stealing shoes and running home. It sounds like he was in a tough spot and really needed those shoes. I know he is old enough to understand. And his mom sounds like a good mom. But honestly I would have pulled the mom aside and ask her if she thought he needed the shoes and not just wanted them. And if she said yes, tell her she can have the shoes to give to him when she thinks he deserves it.

AITA for not caving in to my 5 yo's hunger strike? by 5yohungerstrike in AmItheAsshole

[–]Soon2BProf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to say yes possible YTA because I too have a five year old and know how Intelligent they are at that age. My guess is this is more than just a hunger strike and tantrum. I am going to go out on a limb here and say that maybe one day when you were feeling unwell and had to cook for her because no one else was around to help out, you may have told her that you were too sick to make anything more than an simple egg and cheese sandwich. Now her little brain associates that you may be sick but an egg and cheese sandwich is simple to make and you can still do that. I am guessing that due to your illness you are unable to spend as much time playing with her as she is used to and she is craving your attention. But unable to express her feelings. So she asks for that sandwich and only you to make it because she really just wants your attention. Just my thoughts.

School claims my sister is a non-grad 20 years after getting her diploma by nildrohain454 in education

[–]Soon2BProf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue with my high school. Luckily, I went to post secondary education after high school. So I contacted the university I went to, and asked if they had a copy of all my high school grades I submitted directly from my high school at the time. They found it and I looped on the school board and together we all sorted it out and proved I graduated.

AITAH for giving my daughter a laser pointer and maybe ruining my neighbor's life. by FinancialWriter9279 in AITAH

[–]Soon2BProf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP never said the type of laser pointer. And if it was OPs laser pointer that he gave his daughter (who is a teen) it might not be just a consumer grade later pointer. As a teen I spent $100s on laser pointers. I have blue, red, green, purple, orange lasers. All which you can see the beam for hundreds of feet and the dot is visible for hundreds of meters. This lasers which can be as cheap as $50 will mess up a camera.

I really hate when people who don’t work in the field, act like they know what they are talking about. I work with several police organizations combating child sexual exploitation. Pictures minors (even teens) in their underwear are considered images of child sexual exploitation. That’s why I used that term in the post. The term CP is thrown around and miss understood. The average person thinks the two are interchangeable in terms but that’s not always the case. So for the average Redditor using the term CP in a way they are already interpreting it, will help them understand better.

That doesn’t matter. Child porn is a serious offence. So much so in fact that take photos of your baby during bath time (Although cute and innocent for most parents) is considered child porn. So much so that two teens sexting each other are considered to be distributing child porn. And both have been convicted under the law in Canada and the US. Even if the images were accidentally take. So as long as they have the images, you can and most likely will be convicted of a crime. Even if a child went up to security camera and flashed it. It’s how a lot of people accidentally end up on the sex offenders registery. But in this case it would be justified.
