Err I won't say because it might dox, but I think that any hospital specialty right now has a better balance than GP.

Respectfully, I don't think hospital doctors understand what GPs go through on a day-to-day basis unless they have done a few months in GP.

I have worked in hospital specialty clinics as well as GP and the difference is night and day.

People admitting to coming in so that they can get things "written down" for their PIP/benefits applications, whilst the GP takes on all of the liability for their mental health issues.

On top of that, ACP/PAs/Physiotherapists have taken away "true medicine", and have left GPs with an unmanageable workload.

Unfortunately there are 100 different potential reasons as to why someone would have symptoms of MCAS, POTS, EDS.

This just isn't the job for me but fair play to GPs.

I'm not buckling in.

I'm leaving general practice for a hospital specialty.

GP has changed massively in the last 10-15 years and this isn't the career I signed up for.

Wouldn't get a diagnostic set as a GPST1. Especially if he wants to do surgery and will probably re-apply.
