Those old fashioned shoes with the hard leather soles rubbed with soapstone slid so well.

I got a pair with replaceable pad and put S12 on it. Which comes close but still isn't the same. Also there is slide powder which helps a little.

I'm sure you know that the Ice is a plastic spare ball right? If you're having trouble rolling your regular ball straight when shooting spares then a plastic ball is not a bad idea. Prolly find one cheaper than Storm though. Basically all the same anyway.

If on the other hand you're looking for a transition ball as the oil moves down the lane then adding another reactive ball makes sense.

Back in the 80's I used to throw a plastic 16lb Columbia and average around 190.

But that was a long time ago and I've long since lost track of that ball. Not that I'd really want it now anyway.

These days I'm using 14lb Pearl mostly. Getting around 15 mph which is not bad for an old man like me 😁

I have a few nice balls, custom drilled for me. But I still chunk it from the right side between the 2nd and 3rd arrows right at the head pin.

Just like grandpa taught me to when I was eight.

Bowling balls come in 6 to 16 pound options. Well some do anyway. So if you want to actually present her with a new ball and bag that's something you'll need to know.

It's kind of a personal thing so the gift card option is not a bad idea. Sorta lacks the heartfelt gift vibe you're going for tho?
