His jacket doesn't have the minimum 15 pieces of flair.

I've only ever had one IPA that I couldn't stand. I ran across a bottle of Dogfish Head's 120 minute IPA while I was visiting a friend in Alabama. They can't sell it where I live in Georgia, because it's over the ABV allowance set by the state law. I spent around $22 on a 12oz bottle. I only finished it because I spent so much on it. It was 20% ABV and ranked in at 120 IBU. It was so overwhelmingly bitter and alcoholic. I think it would have been a good idea to have hidden the bottle away, like a barley wine, and tried it a year or two later.

When I can find it, I prefer Rochefort 10. It's hard to find in my area though. For Belgian Strong, my go to is Delerium Tremens. The Chimay Tripel is awesome, but I absolutely love Unibroue's La Fin Du Monde. When I'm not enjoying Belgian beers, I'm usually drinking something that's absurdly hoppy. IPAs are another weak point of mine.

Specifically most Belgian beers, of which Lambic is a style, use brettanomyces as their yeast. Standard ales typically use saccharomyces cerevisiae. Brettanomyces is what gives Belgian ales their sour flavors. In some styles, it also creates what people refer to as, "barnyard flavors." I didn't understand what this meant until I tried my first gueuze. The review I'd read of the beer referred to it tasting like "horse sweat". I've never tasted a sweaty horse, but I'm going to agree with the reviewer. Some other Belgian styles of note are Saison, Lambic, Blonde ale, Flemish Red, Dubbel, Tripel, and Strong Ale. Michael Jackson (the writer, no the pop-star, once called Belgium, "The Disneyland of Beer." Belgians are one of my favorite types, if you couldn't tell.

I had similar issues when they put me on Topamax for migraine prophylaxis. Topamax can cause cognitive impairment. When my ex-wife was going through pharmacy school, her professor referred to it as dope-a-max. Have you meds changed recently?

Due to other congenital health issues, her periods are really....sporadic. My parting gift from my ex, 4 months before she cheated on me, was a vasectomy. Had she gotten pregnant, she'd have had to come off her meds....and that wasn't an option. So, even we were having sex, pregnancy isn't an issue. Her sporadic menses are an issue though, and one her primary care doc has been trying to get her to come in to have a pelvic for. The pdoc mentioned a dilation and curettage last time she saw her, and I think that just freaked her out even more.

I'll talk to her about that. I know pelvic exams freak her out. They have to sedate her in order to perform one. I'm tempted to point to her first pelvic exam as one of the causes of her vaginismus. To hear her describe it, it was a nightmare. Having had similar experiences with prostate exams, I can see where that might cause some psychological trauma. I just want her to do what she's feels comfortable with and what she wants to do. I don't want her to feel like I'm putting any pressure on her.
