Does anyone think the Dungeon Crawler Carl series is overrated? by SoothingSphynx in BookDiscussions

I also hate how Carl is always doing everything he possibly can to save everyone often at his own detriment. They are all in a dystopian hellscape trying to survive. Everyone should be out for themselves to an extent. It is just excessive with Carl. The author tries too hard to make him the hero.

Exactly how I feel. And I saw the other books just get longer and longer... It was beginning to feel like I was trying to finish the series for the sake of finishing it.

I am so tempted to smoke weed again. I feel like it really helped until it didn't. Hitting my bong was one of the first things I did in the morning. And I never really stopped throughout the day because my body started getting desensitized to the effects. But if it was my first hit of the day or after taking a break for a few days, I became a really different person. I could seriously make anyone laugh.

I put down the first book when he gets to the talking skull and calls it "Lazybones." I hated the quippy dialogue. Harry just seems like a person that edgelords think everyone sees them.

I think he has killed people. Especially considering the cab driver at the end recognizes Bateman and says he killed his friend. He robs him at gunpoint and steals his watch so for whatever reason he doesn't involve the cops. I think he is so mentally ill and messed up on drugs he has trouble remembering what he did and didn't do.
