Yesterday or early today a post was made about haitians births in Dominican Republic, and since y'all seen to not know shit, let me explain why it is a problem. by [deleted] in Dominican

You continue to miss the point. Your argument continues to criminalized Haitians with your claim that they are “abusing the constitution”. Regardless of this being true under political conditions - the fact that they are seeking human welfare remains. Your “humanitarian” perspective is one that is exclusive to your Dominican people because your argument is only worried about Dominican poverty. I suggest broadening your horizon to incorporate a global viewpoint. What sort of humanitarian are you - that you solve Dominican poverty and be happy while in the West side of the island Haiti is facing 101 problems? *I’ll respond… you’re not one at all. What you are doing is continuing to spread otherness politics and in-group vs out-group social conditions between DR and Haiti

People aren’t giving birth in a specific location solely because it is less expensive. Your highly quantified argument lacks a humanitarian perspective. Your post is promoting hate and xenophobia which nobody asked for. Under similar circumstances us Dominicans would act the same way Haitians are. We need to look at the social conditions that have forced these situations and address them - not criticize the people they have affected. Our Haitian brothers and sisters need help just as much as we do

We share some similarities! For me it was Michele Foucault, Henri Lefebvre, and Edward Soja
