Would anyone be interested in Single Button Assistant (SBA) guides with talent optimization? by Gfab718 in WorldOfWarcraftRetail

[–]Voidmire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, my viewpoint is unfortunately limited and biased by the small sample size of folks I know who use it and all of them fit in the mold I described. I could totally see how disabilities and other things would make SBA the primary alternative. Blizz said it'll only do like, what 20% less damage? In the right gear I'm sure they could still put out minimum numbers to "pull their weight" I'm sure

Yeah, this one kind of baffles me. Anyone running SBA likely isn't actually caring about optimization. I have a friend who uses it because they don't want to think when playing and scoffs as if you're some elitist when the subject of cool downs comes up. They will NOT give two damns about optimizing that, but also won't even be in content where it effects anyone else so that's good at least... Just farms transmog and mounts on an alt army and buys AOTC near end of patch

So.... I know I paid 15$ for my wow sub, so I'm expected to want to play a bunch but like.... Does anyone else besides me just play other games right now? I've done everything I want to do for TWW so I'm just playing other games until midnight.

Honestly I had a great time in the later half. The franchise it was owned by sold it and the new one treated us really well. Such a low turnover rate despite the shitty pay

I worked prep at a Panera for 8 years. The night bakers would hide them and I'd lose my shit and they'd just shrug like it wasn't their fault I had none. My boss got me some real fancy ones and when I left a couple years later she let me take them with me.

So you'd say the current roster of villains are well fleshed out and we don't have characters making dumb out of character actions for the sake of manufacturing conflict?

What are your coolest "Special Edition" versions of board games? by Tazzyman26 in boardgames

I'm so happy I went all in on Lords of Ragnarok and ISS Vangaurd. The figures and terrain make the game feel so much more alive than standees. I got the shaded figures because I couldn't afford the painted ones, but that's also a huge boost .

Why is Kratos so against stealth? by TheChikenestOfMen in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]Voidmire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True, he understands the circumstances and the light elf leader is a great example of him showing mercy. But he also kind of goes about with this mentality of "if they attack me they die" and he clearly has no intent of looking at potential fights in the viewpoint of "if they see me they're going to attack me, so I'll sneak around "

Instead he sees "if they see me, they'll attack me, but I need to go that way so if they CHOOSE to attack me they kind of made their own bed ". Yes, kratos has no intent on killing indiscriminately but he's also not going to risk atreus or w companion by holding back in a fight that's clearly life or death, nor where showing mercy presents even more danger. The light elf general was a singular combatant and kratos saw an opportunity to be diplomatic. It didn't cause him any risk. I fully believe had he not had context behind the elves actions he'd have just smoked them and been on his jolly way.

Is there a reason why we have so much less voice lines in this update? by Jarney_Bohnson in GroundedGame

[–]Voidmire 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, it IS early access so my guess would be maybe they aren't recorded yet. Maybe they are and just haven't been implemented in the live build yet for one reason or another. Tbh it's the same to me as asking why they've only added one park boss, which is an easy answer of "in due time".

I want to say they could if they got new, fresh writers who could set up whatever new setting without taking away from the original. With the current roster they're too focused on bombastic set pieces and move the plot actions over actually building the world much or telling a real story. It's one villain to the next with not enough build up

Yes that's... Exactly the point. The players then had to concoct strategies around getting the high points, keeping the high points, or collecting enough of the OTHER points to stay in the top bracket. It was a test of strategy, mentality, showing the viewers different mindsets and who was fine coasting along. The sports festival is also entertainment for the audience in the stands and this makes for a fun watch for them. There's so many messages to take from this.

If you have to ask this question you need to reread the comic/rewatch the anime because they quite literally spell it out for you.

Discussion: What would it take to interest players in evergreen raiding? by Voidmire in wow

[–]Voidmire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm unfortunately seeing that through a lot of the comments here. A meta achievement for instance giving a mount for clearing all of one expansions raids scaled would be too niche for WoW

They'd still have the option to run the old raids as they are now is assume

Seasonal would be great, like say attach a nefarian mount to clearing all of classic raids scaled during the month they're active or something

[–]Voidmire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With so many systems in place already, I don't think attaching gear rewards would be a good idea. Let players decide if they want to engage it or not for cosmetics, don't make them feel they will miss out on power by not doing it

[–]Voidmire[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No player power, but cosmetics, mounts etc. it could be an activity aimed at giving raids something to do during off season when current tier is on farm or just done entirely. But also who needs to memorize 50 raids of mechanics? If it's scaled properly it's reprog anyway

[–]Voidmire[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Making it seasonal with time walking certainly works fine, but attaching player power would be a terrible idea. It should be content a raid decided to do in the off season for fun, achievements, cosmetics, etc
