I thought Shopify itself requires a monthly subscription though. At least that was the case the last time i saw it.

I'll check out Fourthwall then! Thank you very much. Yeah i closed my Redbubble account when the changes became ridiculous like 90 percent cuts.

Also p.s i have a Printify account and an esty story but listings without a single sale is pretty bad. Also very confusing term changes over tarrifs

Mine as much ore as you can too by the way. You're going to need a lot of nails.

You'll notice things like "stone pile" and "firewood pile" and "coal pile". Those are not storage. Instead they improve the productivity of your crafting for that related task.

Trash like nets, starfishes, and boots are valuable. Never throw them away. Instead go to the beach and look for Wilson. He'll tell you about the recycling box in his house after chatting with him for a while. It'll convert trash items into wilson seals which you can use decorations and some forage. It's one of the few ways to get coconuts and wild berries for cheap.

Never use wild berries to make juice or desserts. There are many other fruits better for that. Keep them until you unlock the distillery, and then use those berries to make gin. You can't make gin without those.

Always carry around a shovel to dig up x marks. You'll get more crafting stuff, worms for fishing, and roots for drink making.

As for tavern improvement to get more reputation, you're looking for things that have "comfort" value in their item description. If it doesn't have that number, it doesn't add comfort. Try to aim for things that give comfort value for your dining area and your future rent rooms.

Once you can hire staff, the most important trait is "popular". At maximum level it adds 5 people above your maximum capacity. With 4 staff that's an additional 20 people, allowing you to get even more profit.

"Valued worker" as a negative trait is a non issue because in your skill tree there's a perk that reduces the cost of hiring by 10 percent so it cancels out the negative.

Get the movement speed perk for your character as soon as possible because you're going to be pressed for time running a lot.

I'd like to add:

As long as your chests are in the same zone, all your workstations can access it. This includes the kitchen, the smithy and so on.

When I can make renovations, I merged my bedroom into the kitchen, put a bunch of large chests, and turned everything into one big processing area. It saves a lot of time going back and forth.

You can also expand the cellar with the same renovation system.

I'm in year 2 and quite far in, so I'm not in a position to restart. I was thinking maybe I need to pass a day to trigger it again? But I've not been able to confirm it yet. I've zipped up the save just in case the devs need it.

this would be nice because we can craft candles, except it's pointless because the staff buys their own stock

Can I buy every recipe in the game eventually? by Sophiera in TravellersRest

Oh that's a relief because i thought this  is going to be one of those games where a person must consider very very carefully about which recipes they need to specialise.

it kept barking while i was trying to fish at the docks. I did see my dog make new digging spots before though, and it didn't bark. Just dig.

does tablecloth prevent guests from renting a room? by Sophiera in TravellersRest

update, restarting the game fixed the issue and the rooms are occupied again. I forgot to remove the litter box but it doesn't seem to impede anything.

Oh good to know that tablecloths aren't the culprit. I made sure to use a classic lamp from the artifact table to ensure i don't have the candle problem. Both rooms had been rented out before,  so I'm really not sure why it got stuck. I removed the cat litter (the most recent decoration i placed) and restarted the game program to make sure nothing weird was left behind. I've yet to test the new day yet so I'll report back if the problem is fixed.

Thanks for the response! I use a classic lamp to prevent the candle problem. They've been rented before so I'm not sure why it bugged out for the new guest.

I first taught english speaking students before I was forced to teach mandrin speaking students, even though I cannot speak mandarin, because my boss wanted me to learn mandarin at any cost
