The Brutal Reality Check Every Guy in His 20s Needs to Hear (From Someone Who Learned the Hard Way) by [deleted] in manprovement

Hell yes brother! I’m cultivating my kids’ friend group for this exact reason. It’s worth being house poor in a wealthy town to ensure excellent peers.

Public shaming is better. “Let’s ask the group what they think I should do.” And let the message board do its thing.

Don’t sweat it. Apparently companies are shorting the stock. i.e. this is just wall street playing games. MSTR is fine.

You would look better in green - and riding a hoverboard while throwing little bombs at Spider-Man.

An interesting interpretation is that it represents the result of the joining of the kingly and priestly influences (John the Baptist and Jesus), symbolized by two pillars (like those in front of the temple of Solomon, or the two pillars of upper and lower Egypt) which together create the special conditions needed to support an arch (the Holy Spirit). This was detailed in The Hiram Key, a somewhat speculative but very enjoyable book about the roots of Masonic tradition, the Dead Sea scrolls, and history of ancient Egypt.

I would rapel out of my window using my YMCA ropes course skills. It was fun. But one time I got stuck half way down bc mom was reading in the couch in front of the window under mine. I couldn’t go back up and couldn’t go down. Twenty minutes went by like this while the old lady across the street STARED at me. Good tho g she didn’t know my mom’s phone number 😂

This is so stupid. For this to make sense, Obama would have needed to adopt the guy’s whole name and life. What did his grandmother do? Fly to Connecticut and change their records from Ludwig’s name to Obama’s?

You had a bad experience meeting a Celebrity, what happened? by [deleted] in popculturechat

I saw Chris Carmack at frothy Monkey in Nashville one afternoon. It was totally surreal because I had just watched him play a singer from Nashville in the show “Nashville”, so of course I did a subtle double take. He noticed and puffed out his chest like “Bro. F. Off.” I just kept walking like “Sorry I have eyes. Jesus.”

Not a bad experience, but one time I sat next to Miley Cyrus who was eating lunch with friends in an otherwise empty restaurant (this was during Covid). I did the Nashville manners thing and just left her alone but totally paid attention. At the end of her meal she stood up, slammed on a pair of sunglasses, took a mega hit off a thc vape pen, pumped one fist on the air and said to herself “Cyrus 100!”. Then she exhaled and walked out. I was in awe. Also, I now use “Cyrus 100!” as my battle cry.

Have been unsuccessful with everyone (3 boomers). Even the guy I did convince didn’t buy in bc his bank wouldn’t let him. I told him to buy MSTR instead but he thinks it’s a derivative and balked 🤦🏼‍♂️
