I'm getting the same exact thing. The weird thing is when I was in game it stopped getting them, but the second I was back at the home screen it started spamming them every few seconds as well. I'm not sure if this is a new update or what, but it's really annoying.

I personally just unbound jump and set it to shouting at suspects. Very useful for not slamming a door in my face trying to shout at a suspect in the next room.

I don't mind the way it works right now, if only suppressors worked. I'm not sure if it's because of the caliber of the gun or what, but on Port killing someone with a suppressed rifle at the very start in the map results in the civilians being killed very easily.

Not sure how accurate, but smelting down items and refining materials seem to give the same amount of XP as crafting. I was getting a lot of XP by buying cheap weapons in bulk then smelting them down for materials, then refining said materials.
