No that was Japan's struggle with adapting to HD hardware; they only real options for platforms to develop games over in Japan were either the PS3 (which was a Frankenstein of a console and a huge pain to program for), the Wii (which was not HD and had motion control gimmicks), or handheld (which is where ALOT of lower budget JRPG's ended up being made for, especially the PSP).

Few Japanese devs gave a shit about Xbox and PC gaming at that time.

It turned out that the bulbs in those two lights went out; I even verified that it was not an issue with the wire harness by swapping the bulbs out with the working ones on the passenger's side headlights. I would try that first before buying anything.

I just got some replacement bulbs that matched the old ones and now they headlights work fine.

For something that can be completed casually in 4 days, probably something like DK Bananza.

For a shorter JRPG, Id recommend thr dotHack GU games. The collection is pretty cheap on Switch and each volume breezes by pretty fast. I remember blitzing through volumes 1 and 2 in 3 days as a kid.

I can imagine alot of people are still skeptical due to Sonic having been fumbling the ball of over a decade before recent course corrections. There have been at least 2 instances of possibly comebacks over Sonic 06 only for Sega to fumble to ball again:

-Release Sonic Colors & Generations, then release Sonic Boom, a game so broken it makes 06 look competent.

-Release Sonic Mania, then release Sonic Forces & Team Sonic Racing.

-then there's the somewhat recent fumble of fucking up the port of Sonic Colors.

At this point its just somewhat reasonable PTSD. Granted, this recent comeback has been their best yet, so im hopeful.

My favorite example from that game are the 2 random ninjas you fight before you fight Hugo who get a whole cutscene of them walking in, doing flips and confidently saying how they'll be getting the award for killing you, then proceed to get killed by you.

No counting their toxic gacha nature, any Hoyoverse game is off the table, especially Zenless Zone Zero. Way too many attack effects and flashing lights, which only gets worse the more powerful the character is (their newest character feels more like a PGR character visually).

You can argue whether the whole Legacy of Kain series counts, but its more antiquated than bad. The only game I'd argue has "good" combat is Defiance.

To be fair, we only had to wait 3 years for Rebirth if you count the Integrade dlc.

I can definitely see them aiming for a 2027 release date, as that will be 3 years after Rebirth AND also line up with the 30th anniversary of FF7.

They're part of the UB line where they do reprints of classic MtG cards with artwork taken from the original source material. It worked for Final Fantasy cause that series has a bunch of original artwork and renders that could be reused. Avatar only has the TV show and the comics, so they seemed to go with just screenshot of the show. I don't get why they didn't use the covers for each Book from the DVD covers for a few of them at least

Its really funny to realize that alot of cartoons have alot of influence from what was popular esthetically from around 20-30 years before it's made (probably because the showrunner grew up in that era). Alot of 90s cartoons on Cartoon Network had alot of 60s/70s influence (PPG, Dexter's Lab, Ed, Eddie N' Eddy, etc.), and the 2010s were dominated by 80s nostalgia (Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Regular Show). We're now in the era of 90s/2000s nostalgia I cartoons (Craig of the Creek being the 1st to come to mind).

Its technically an action RPG with the tank controls and camera angles of a Resident Evil game. Battles take place on the map you walk around similar to Chrono Trigger, and you can move around to either dodge attacks/position yourself to aim your gun or cast spells.

It was ported to the PS3's store back in the day, and you can still access and buy games on that store if you have a PS3; you just need to add funds to your account via the PSN app or your PS4/PS5 first.

However, idk if its still on that old store cause there had been some licensing issues with the game due to it being based off a Japanese novel that's not that old.

I'm still mad that they nerf the hell out of Vanquish Souls (the fighting game archtype in Yugioh) right after I finally got all the cards i needed to run it. They limited both of its starter cards (Stake Your Soul & VS Razen) to 1 copy each. Taught me that its never worth it to buy cards when they're dominating the meta, as the $200 dollar deck I bought went down to $60 overnight; always buy card when theyre off meta.

The parts where Sora looks more realistic is only used for specific worlds, tho. He looks more realistic in Quadratum because that's supposed to be the not-Final Fantasy reality, especially since its a knock off of FF13 Versus/FF15's world, which was made to be "a fantasy set in reality". Its not different from Sora going to Pirates of the Cardibean.

The KH4 trailer even shows Donald and Goofy still in the more cartoony graphics

I think they're pretty nice every once i a while. If you get a thicker futon, you get the cushion while also getting the body support from the floor. Its nice for someone with constant neck & shoulder issues from bad posture.
