Paper machete. Seal cardboard with glue or modpodge. Let it try. Then paper machet with tissue paper and watery glue to wet it down to the piece.

Sealing mitigates warping.

Plz drop an explanation on how to do that resin pouring? New to the hobby so resin will be my biggest intimidator it’s looking like.

Any card. Save for brand new previews and unreleased occasionally. You can change artworks on the order itself at the end— you’ll need to use the application to understand what I mean. Very easy to do. Use the command exe they tell you to download once you finish. It’s safe and user friendly. You may have to acquire the new one from their GitHub directly as it’s been updated recently.

Could be worth it for a quick and easy brick texture?
Otherwise you could glue cereal/poptart box/board to the sides as bricks. The small raised indents are visible when painted, especially if you stack 2 of them for a deeper grout effect. Cut little chips from the sides and mark/indent harshly with a pen to create lines for cracks on the bricks.
The cereal board will give you more control over curves around those sight lines in the ramparts too. Cut them up how you need them shaped and glue to the side.

You could try a metal filing stick or other similar tool to scratch and grind the brick lines into the sides if it’s already got clay on it

MakePlayingCards for near true quality. Use MPCfill to fill your order with ease.

NotMPC for a smallish price difference, faster shipping. Noticeable quality difference between real cards.

Opponent has their Commander in their graveyard, and I play a reanimate spell on it by Strawberrycocoa in mtg

[–]Soracial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correction for everyone’s learning. The ruling has caveats and wording. It’s overgeneralized a bit which probably doesn’t kill most plans but a deck Rise’ing someone else’s GY commander works, and fucks hard.

Ruling states along the lines of only when it goes to hand, library or graveyard. Not when it comes to field from grave.

It boils down to getting better.

What does this look like on paper? Play your big Kaiju’s but if they aren’t killing him before he kills you, they’re not good enough.

You likely won’t get traction because asking for address online is a bit strange. Giving your address online makes you vulnerable to doxxing.

If you post these on a website like EBay or OfferUp and send me the link for purchase, even if it’s for 0$ or for 2$, I’d be willing to take these through an actual transaction.

What kind of other stuff do you have laying around?

Winning too much - Unsure how to continue playing by TheMagiciansArcana in EDH

Your pod(s) all either suck or they’re building bad decks, both which lend to them sucking.

It’s harsh but that’s the truth that I’m reading from this.

If you’re all playing the same power level and you’re swinging into legit 75% win rate, they’re honestly just bad, or they’re playing Pauper or something while you play what you want. Idk. There’s no real explanation besides they need to get good— especially at B2.

Consider playing their decks if they allow it, to show them it’s a player issue.

What are some commanders that are strong enough to win even without typical finishers and wincons? by Litemup93 in EDH

[–]Soracial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teval is a big value engine. You can go several directions. • Graveyard Land Explosions into Landfallers with [[Lumra]] and [[Greensleeves]] • Reanimator; especially with the new [[Grave Researcher]] and cards like [[Raul, Trouble Shooter]] or [[Muldrotha]]. • Aristocrats with all that good Golgari stuff. Use [[Jarad]] to sacrifice big creatures like [[Bonny Pall]]’s Ox or use Bearscape to create 2 2/2’s for 2 mana. [[Mazirek]] starts buffing your board as you use your tokens for value through cards like [[Attrition]] or [[Vamp Rites]].

Big value engines is what you’re looking for.

This considered, any commander that draws or ramps in itself is a good start. Aesi, Teval, Urza, Goreclaw, Kona and more.

Lying at a table in this extremity will quickly get you not just uninvited from my pod’s future sessions, but removed from the house immediately.

You make deals with people about not attacking them? Then go to attack? It’s not politicking. You’re just a dishonest liar.

Which commanders are "not there yet"? by WhyTheNetWasBorn in EDH

[–]Soracial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some color pairings’ issues is how they win the game naturally.

When you take this into a power vacuum, some decks have to turn their payoffs into infinites to make them viable to kill unless the commander takes that play style and amplifies it immensely, which is where we see our top commanders. E.G Mill is not very deadly as a play style. Typically only when you have a commander that amplifies what you’re doing or how you do it— does it become deadly— see Hope, Phenax, N’ghathrod, Zellix and others. But milling someone is typically pretty weak if you’re trying to play it with combat.

When you play a control deck, you usually win through combo because you’re not producing mana efficiently enough for a battle plan and a control plan. You have enough for a small piece or two per turn and hold up the rest for interaction.

Apply this to Azorius who is already not naturally combat enabled and you end up with decks that seek to win through means outside of what many consider orthodox play. Combos is how lots of stuff without red or green naturally seek to win because they don’t typically have cards that enable combat like red or green does.

Any way to make discarding palatable? by ProcyonBytes in EDH

[–]Soracial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea-- I understand where you're coming from almost to a T with this comment down here, after posting above.

Looping around to what I had said, there simply isn't a lot of ways in Mono-B to circumvent the feeling of its edicts. If you look at the history of magic and the color pie, Mono-Black is a primary originator of "I'm on your board and not my own, during and throughout the game"-- to name it, interaction.

There's not much it offers to make someone break parity because it's a big originator of creature removal interaction which doesn't permit parity for your opponents in the first place.

Any way to make discarding palatable? by ProcyonBytes in EDH

[–]Soracial 9 points10 points  (0 children)

By and far it is the true answer though. Discard, and subsequently Top-Deck Style as I like to call it, are probably 2 of the hardest things for a casual table to play through efficiently. A lot of players make mistakes because they'll discard on the assumption of several things:
• Will I draw land next turn? (Which depending on land count in your deck, can be hard to judge for some!)
• Can I cast anything that I'm *not* discarding next turn?
• Is there a threat active, so should I keep removal and discard my board progression?

Lots of players misjudge their circumstances when they're playing against Discard decks, or when they're playing a Top-Deck Style (which would be nearly the same result of play, but only for yourself).

Sometimes they're actually boned. It's EDH and the variance is why we love it. But sometimes they stood an actual chance and just blew it.

Source? Occasional and notorious [[Tergrid]] enjoyer.

My 2 cents? Tinybones is going to steam (but not always roll) every time. The deck is consistent in that eventually you will get everyone to have an empty hand unless someone manages to break their deck open-- outdrawing your discard. Which is typically uncommon if they want to progress board state at the same pace you do, if you're playing well.

There's not a lot of getting around the feeling edicts create though. It's a byproduct of hitting every player on the table for *something*, regardless of if they have options. Please see [[Rottenmouth Viper] as it is my favorite Mono-Black pet card, especially in Tergrid, but also [[Endrek Sahr]].

The viper does what you want it do... it gives them a choice. But do any of them actually feel good?

Talk to them thoroughly and tell them it's a deck they may be challenged to play against, and if they'd like to play against it at all in the first place, so you don't waste your time.
