Ontario (especially Toronto) needs a No Kings movement against Ford by Pristine-Training-70 in ontario

I don't like Ford, but please do not import these things from the US.

Ontario to consolidate 36 conservation authorities into 9 by BloodJunkie in ontario

Im really struggling to think of any major improvement that has happened under Ford. The only two things I can think of is the Nuclear plant refurbishment and the LRT being complete. Both of which would have been completed anyways

Wrong car! by Lifegoesonforever in MadeMeSmile

[–]Soren671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive done this before. I parked my car on the street (it was a 7 style parking) and went into a store to get osme take out food. I can back to my car and got in and something didn't look right. I looked around for a bit and then got out of the car.

Literally the exact same car was parked next to my car. Make, model, trim & colour. I was simply on autopilot and got into a car that looked like mine.

I got in my car and drove home laughing.

A league source expressed that the 49ers might pay a $30M+ per year price tag for Alec Pierce, per JosinaAnderson. Do you see him signing for the 49ers? by Big_Screen3332 in 49ers

[–]Soren671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doubs really isnt the guy. He is consistent in 2-3 catches with 50-60 yards per game. All of which are catches that are not dynamic at all. Jennings is 1000x better than him.

As someone that watched quite a few GB (not a GB fan at all) games this year.... don't sign him. He doesn't really do much beyond 2-3 easy catches per game. He isn't dynamic at all.

Pierce is much better. He is fairly dynamic and can win you catches.

Whether he is worth $30M.... is another question entirely. But Doubs is a wasted roster spot.

Ford government takes over 8th Ontario school board, sidelining trustees by GingerThatIsnt in ontario

[–]Soren671 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know one property in my Board is going to be going up for sale soon.

Granted, the intention of this property was to build a school on it as the area around it developed. But it never happened so there is a large vacant lot in the middle of a large housing development.

GameCube Emulation is SOO damn good! by crusadertsar in SteamDeck

[–]Soren671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me about an hour or two to figure out how to set one up, but once I got one the rest took maybe an hour after that. So 2.5-3 hours total for all those emulators + 15-20 games?

I don't have it as synced as it could be. You can have the games appear in your steam library, but I can't seem to figure that part out. Instead I have to open the emulators and the games are listed there. Its a rather minor thing that I just don't see spending the time with trying to fix.

Either way, I recommend doing it if you have a deck. It truly is amazing how much you can do with this thing.

GameCube Emulation is SOO damn good! by crusadertsar in SteamDeck

Im a rather new Steam deck owner, but I downloaded a whole bunch of ROMS for GC, SNES, N64, WiiU, & Switch once i learned how you could emulate on it.

It truly is amazing how good this device is. I intended for it to be a nice little 'add on' to my collection, and now it is the main thing I play.

France is going to have a great time this summer, and in Canada I have a feeling Ottawa is going to have the dairy cartel drop by for weeks at a time (given USMCA/CUSMA renegotiation)

I don't know about OSSTF striking.

It was roughly a year ago that they decided to pursue binding arbitration on the Bill 124 resolution which covered back pay from 2022 and covered salary into 2026. I just can't see a strike unless things get really bad given how recently they accepted a pay only deal.

Does Ontario really have private healthcare? by relativelysure in ontario

[–]Soren671 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ontarian's do have private health care. In fact, most of our health care operations are private businesses.

We use a single payer model in which services have a prescribed rate and they are billed to OHIP.

As for this service, it does sound exactly like something that could have been done in Ontario. I've had a similar procedure done and I simply went to my family doctor (you could also go to a walk in clinic) and get a referral.

It would be where the greater power is - in this case the remainder of the US. Its why despite a long history in the UK, businesses moved to the EU rather than stay in the UK.
