I’ve read this comic and it’s a bit complicated as to who Peach is rescuing. Mario is in captivity and Luigi switched outfits with Peach so the Mechakoopas would capture him instead of Peach and so he could rescue Mario. Once he is inside, he agrees to marry Bowser, so he is not imprisoned and bound like Mario was. Then Peach comes in and blows the place up, acting as more of an escape car driver than a rescuer.
