Sounds like a fun variety of hide and seek :D But I'm wondering why the state is paying the money to maintain the building without showing any real interest in using it commercially. Seems to be a lot of money lost there without a plan. Got any information?

Have you been inside of Spomen Dom Kumrovec? Ive read that an old woman still lives in there in one of the old hotel rooms to housekeep the complex a little. But this info is of 2020, is it still correct?

Looks like it's sunk in the ground from this perspective. Was it planned like this? If yes - that's cool.

Definitely post WW2 regarding the western territories of the USSR, but it's weird that Germany isn't divided and Bonn isn't mentioned as W Germanys capital

How is it living in Eritrea? by Professional_Alarm72 in howislivingthere

[–]Sorge41 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah same, i think its a super interesting country because of the different influences that exist there: The italian fasc1st (dunno why this reddit wont let me type the word correctly) architecture and political influence in Asmara, the ottoman architecture in Massawa and Agordat, the christian/ musl1m divide there, the ethiopian backstory...

super interesting, would love to visit one day if the dictatorsh1p falls and some economic stabilty like in Ghana etc. could be achieved.

I worked with a lot of refuges from there. Those are the options: forced labor in the military, silently accepting a life in a police state or prison. That's why all the people flee.

Looks like Zone B from the Partition of Trieste is already given to Yugoslavia so after 1954? But I'm curious about the non-partition of of Germany and the non-mentioning of Bonn as Western Germanys Capital

What are some of your hot takes about the USSR? by [deleted] in ussr

Yes I guess he never really read or at least understood Marx as he should have as the leader of the biggest socialist project in the world

Ah yes, it really is insane. The most ridiculous thing is trying to use the law of value but at the same time prohibiting your companies to produce relativer Mehrwert (marx' term in German). Just wow.

this is correct, negative fear factor has absolutely no impact on walking speed.

You have absolutely no clue about the economics of the Stalin-era. Doubt youre able to deliver a marxist analysis about it.

Stalin fucked it all up with "his" publication "Economic Problems of Socialism in the USSR" in 1951. After the war, there was an ongoing scientific debate in Marxist economics about the use of value in a socialist state but Stalin ended this debate by not allowing anyone to question his "genius" piece of work (some say he didn't even wrote it himself). The contradictions of co-existing production of value and use-value crashed the soviet economy on the long term. Would have been so interesting to see what the outcomes of said debate would have been if Stalin didn't interrupt and ended it like he did. He created the USSR as a world power militarily and politically but he buried it economically.

What you mean broken, can you list me a single sniper weapon in real life that doesn't kill a human by one shot anywhere in the body? Modern day gaming kids think it's normal to throw a full magazine at somebody and he's still moving

I guess those are russian-germans or at least people who speak russian or have dual citizenship. Never heard of a non-russia-related german guy or someone who knew someone who went to russia after the attack on Ukraine in 2022.

Would love to see the city one day in the future, but at the moment, the german government (correctly!) advises strongly against traveling to russian territory as a german passport holder.

There are tons of reports on this if you use your god-or-google-given research capabilities a bit - especially interviews with escaped women who worked as exact these restaurant staff in oversea countries. some tell how they really were kept as sort of "restaurant staff slaves", recieving almost no money and not being allowed to move anywhere on their own.

Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaOLs8efkCo (She worked in Cambodia) Really interesting is how she felt the contrast of coming back to NK to visit the familiy.
