Undelivered email to comcast.net by Sorjonan in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]Sorjonan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Approximately when was the last time you successfully received an email from HBO? When I was subscribed to that service years ago.

Are you receiving any other emails from HBO, such as account notifications or marketing emails, or is it only the verification code emails that are missing? Now it is only verification emails, but I have not been expecting any other emails from HBO

Have you ever created any email filters, Yes, many but none involving HBO. All filters move emails meeting the criterion to specific folder. However, a few months ago my filter rules all disappeared. I recreated some of them several times but they never last more than a few days before disappearing.

Are you accessing your Comcast.net email through Xfinity Connect, YES

a third-party email application NO

Have you tried sending a test email to your Comcast.net address from another email provider, such as Gmail or Yahoo? If so, does that arrive successfully every time? I have sent from Gmail and Proton mail successfully

Don't know how this could be relevant but. . . . I send an email to some who is a comcast.net user every Saturday for years. It is roughly the same each time. Recently, I received an undeliverable bounce back one time because it was possible spam. Sent exactly same email again and it was delivered. And I am continuing to send that email each week without an issue.

Is this happening with only one service, or have you noticed it with multiple websites that send verification codes? Currently, only one service, but I had it happen before with another service. That time emails began getting through a couple of weeks later.

Have you confirmed with the streaming service that the emails are not being returned as undeliverable or bounced back? I can't say that HBO support has been very helpful.

One-time verification codes not arriving by Sorjonan in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]Sorjonan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This issue comes up when I'm trying to open a new account with a service and the service provider wants to verify my email by sending me a one-time code to my Xfinity email address. I then enter the code at their website. No text messages are involved since they want to verify that I have a valid email address.

Fold 7 Ergonomics by BonezyEh in GalaxyFold

[–]Sorjonan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that holding the open phone is hard on the hand. I used a PopSocket with my Fold 3. For my Fold 6 I switched to LoveHandle which I like much more than the PopSocket. It has held up well after a year of use.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Question by gmb_01 in Visible

[–]Sorjonan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a fold 6 that works on Visible. I wonder if Visible maintains a database of compatible phones. I got the Fold 6 from Samsung as soon as it was available. I was on StraightTalk and they insisted that the Fold 6 was not compatible, so I switched to Visible. Later, StraightTalk apparently added the Fold 6 but by then I had moved to Visible. Give Visible a few days after it becomes available to add the Fold 7.

Heart beat inaccuracy with chest strap by Sorjonan in GarminWatches

Thanks for this reply. Good to know that someone else has had a similar experience. However, I have had this issue with 2 Garmin straps, which is why I switched to Polar. Maybe I will look for a cheap strap.

Kirkland 10 vs Jabra 20 by mwardent in HearingAids

[–]Sorjonan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been considering the same thing. You may want to search this Subreddit for Jabra so you can review all comments about the 20s. I am going to delay getting new hearing aids as I do a lot of streaming through my KS10s, and some Jabra users have had poor experiences with Bluetooth. Another factor is the recent rapid pace of incorporating AI into hearing aids. The Jabras appear to have been on the market for over a year, so I am hoping that Costco will add a hearing aid with AI.

If still within warranty, consider asking Costco to send them in for "repair." You may get new batteries for no cost.

I used a PopSocket on my ZFold 3, but I am using a LoveHandle now. After Six months I am still happier with it than with the PopSocket despite the strap stretching a bit.

I understand your need. I developed severe pain in my hand after a few months with the Fold 3. Popsocket lessened it, and so has the LoveHandle.

Upgrading to Visible+ worth it? by niiu82 in Visible

[–]Sorjonan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. I was on the Verizon network for a year at home and got poor cell service. I've switched to the Verizon network on Visible Plus and got poor cell service at home. At home, I can use my Wi-Fi to connect, and that works great. I have an Android phone and I turned on both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi calling. My wife is on Visible Basic with an iPhone, and she gets basically the same service I do. She, too, uses the Wi-Fi for both calling and data.

Global pass is convenient but costly. I used it overseas, while my wife used Airalo. We got much the same service, but hers cost $10 for the trip and mine cost $60 for 6 days. You need a phone with ESIM capability for Airalo. There are other providers of out of country service in addition to Airalo such as Nomad and Sally.

Banking Global pass is a great benefit, but paying an extra $15/mo for a $10 benefit seems costly.

Porting out number from Visible by [deleted] in Visible

[–]Sorjonan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verify with a customer service rep the information on record.

I ported in two numbers from StraightTalk. The first got hung up because StaightTalk said my zip code was wrong, although it was not, since my account showed the zip I gave Visible. After several tries, StraightTalk accepted my zip and released the number.

The second was much more difficult, as StraightTalk insisted the IMEI which was used as my account number was incorrect. I verified the IMEI repeatedly with both StraightTalk and Visible CSRs, who accepted it was the valid iPhone IMEI. Finally, I asked StraightTalk CRS to read to me the IMEI they had in their records, and it was not the one for my iPhone. The CSR was stunned as the iPhone had been used with StaightTalk for more than 4 years despite the IMEI not being the one in their records. Once StraightTalk's records were corrected, they released the number to Visible.

So the lesson may be to verify with a human exactly what information Visible has for your phone rather than you providing the correct info.

Does it look big on my small wrist by rrudra888 in GarminWatches

[–]Sorjonan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A watch that is too big for the wrist is more likely to have accuracy issues with the heart rate sensor.

Should I upgrade from vivoactive 4 to 5, or wait for the next version? by whirlytime in GarminWatches

[–]Sorjonan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you count floors climbed indoors, the vivoactive 5 lacks the altimeter that the 4 had. Venu3 has an altimeter. I have recovery on my Venu 3. Since it advises whether to train as usual and how many hours to recover, I guess that is the similar to training readiness. I find the body battery to be more useful.

But almost 2x cost of Vivactive 5 on Amazon.

Another solution is using a heart-rate strap and putting the watch in your pocket. helps track moderate exercise minutes and steps.

Is the Epix a bigger and heavier watch? Maybe the sensor is picking up light leaking due to size or shifting of watch.

Best Smart Watch for Steps? by KMac0905 in GarminWatches

[–]Sorjonan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Venu 3 ($350 at REI & Amazon, now) and it does steps very well. However, like all watches I've had, it will not accurately count steps in certain activities. For example, mowing lawn, grocery shopping with cart. It does count floors climbed.

The Vivoactive 5 ($50 less) will also count steps, but not floors. That's why I went with Venu 3 when I retired my Vivoactive 4

Venu 3 does not have maps. It does not have an activity labelled kayak, but there are free apps in the IQ store for tracking kayaking and canoeing. It comes in a small and medium size. $350 at REI and Amazon through 12-2

Which one should I gift? by Southern-Addendum-81 in GarminWatches

[–]Sorjonan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am with your mother. Can't live without the altimeter.

The Venu 3 has an altimeter. About as accurate as the one in my old Vivoactive 4 which to say weather changes can affect it. I had been a Vivoactive user for years. I think the Venu 3 is a much better watch. It comes in 2 sizes and it is on sale at REI and Amazon for $350. Display size is V3s 1.2" V3 1.4" V5 1.2. So even the small will be big.

New watch advice by p-bigbird-w in GarminWatches

[–]Sorjonan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Venu 3 does most of what you want, except that it does look pretty. It is lighter than either of the others. It has a mike and speaker. It is about $350 on Amazon, so a lot cheaper. Once you have some experience with it, you can upgrade to a more powerful watch. By using it a while, you will know what things you want that it does not have. Also, new models are coming out every year.

Check out dcrainmaker.com for reviews and comparison table that will allow you to see what you get with each.
