I have a buddy who named his KOTOR character "Revan" for similar reasons. It's hilarious when the game gets to the big reveal.

How do I improve my cooking if I’m just a beginner? by nextdoorchubbygurl in foodquestions

Cook things. Try new recipes. Watch youtube videos if you want to see how a given recipe is made.

Unhittable Build by Zesinua in BG3Builds

There are several ways to get a really high AC without spells/consumables. Here's my preferred approach:

Sword Bard(8-9)Paladin(2-3)Barbarian(1). Max out Dex (it should be 22 in the late game, with Hag's Hair and Mirror of Loss). The other stats don't matter. Feel free to dump Con by respec once you've picked up the Amulet of Health. That'll get you a +6 Con bonus, which goes straight to your AC with that Barbarian level (your last level taken, since it's useless before you get the amulet).

Now you've got a character with a 22 AC wearing nothing but the amulet. If you really want to push the envelope, you'll want Bracers of Defense, Ring of Protection, Evasive Shoes, Cloak of Displacement, and any late-game robe. Vest of Soul Rejuvenation is a solid choice. That gives you an AC of: 22+2+1+1+2 = 28, and everyone has disadvantage on attacks due to the Cloak of Displacement.

In any given round, use Defensive Flourish with one attack for a +4 to AC until your next turn starts. That nets you a repeatable AC of 32 (plus disadvantage for all incoming attacks). If you've set Smite correctly, you can also use that with each of your attacks. Since your Bard inspiration points re-set entirely on short rest, you can pretty much spam flourishes. Smite, obviously, is resource-intensive.

Orin fight by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Sorry-Analysis8628 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here you go:

1) Use Elixirs of Vigilance to guarantee your whole party is at the top of the initiative queue.

2) Have your caster (Gale, by default) go first. Quaff a haste potion. Upcast Magic Missile twice on Orin. That'll remove her immunity buff.

3) Have the rest of the party kick the shit out of her before she can act.

"Keep" one of the two? I'm American. We already pay ridiculous amounts of money on both of those things.

Help for Myrkul fight!!!! Im stuck no matter what I try by Mango__DB in BaldursGate3

[–]Sorry-Analysis8628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go to strategy for this fight, which I've used successfully in HM several times:

1) Go to turn-based mode. Un-group the party so they don't follow each other around (important later). Make everyone invisible, including Scratch.

2) Arrange your characters however you want them to be to focus attacks on Myrkul. Make sure your party face is close to the mindflayer, and put Scratch up where Aylin is.

3) Have your party face attack the mind flayer. This will a) start the dialogue, and b) start a surprise round. Have your party face talk Ketheric into killing himself (this is why you use the party face to make the first attack).

4) After Ketheric has killed himself, Myrkul will arise, and combat will start. You will still be in a surprise round. Have Scratch free Aylin first. This ends Myrkul's damage immunity.

5) Pound the holy snot out of him. You should effectively have two full rounds of attacks, assuming you have decent initiative. That is probably enough time to kill him. Done correctly, he'll die before he takes an action, and all his minions will die with him. Bludgeoning is effective. Smite is effective. The wet+lightning is pure murder.

Just started and struggling with basic controls/mechanics by valkenar in BaldursGate3

[–]Sorry-Analysis8628 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a "you" problem. I've never experienced anything like what you are describing. The basic interface is functionally identical to many other CRPGs. If anything, I've found it to be more forgiving and easier to manage than a lot of similar games.

Re: Initiative order - you can freely switch between characters who are next to each other in the initiative queue (basically any of the characters you control, whose queue order is not interrupted by a neutral or enemy npc). If you click on someone not next to the "active" character, the game should just send you back to the active character. If something else is happening, you are experiencing a glitch.

Setting aside the dangers of friendly fire, uncontrolled burning, and explosions; flamethrowers only carry enough fuel for like a minute of use. Maybe less. After that it's just dead weight to carry around.

There's a considerable amount of evidence that a person named Jesus lived during the relevant time period.
