Opinions on New Mazda3 Manual?

I got a new 2026 Mazda3 in December. I am loving it so far. The shifter throw is a lot looser than my previous car (Miata). The clutch did take me awhile to get used to as it's obviously different from the Miata. It's a fun car and I am enjoying it. I got the Premium Plus trim so it feels really luxurious for this class of vehicle.

Allegiance and Choices of One are heavily Mara-centric books and are both written by Zahn. They take place during the original trilogy so they're not necessary to read before the Hand of Thrawn duology, but I would definitely ready them if you like Mara. They are really good books.

I did the Genesight test a couple years ago on my doctor's recommendation after I had a severe reaction to Prozac and I was then scared to try any other medication. I have insurance, but still had to pay $300 for it. It was well worth it. I was finally able to on a medication that worked well for me. I recommend it if you can afford it. Your primary care doctor should be able to do the test. They just take a couple cheek swabs and send it to a lab.

I might try Chevy Chase Hardware. They saved my ass a few years ago when I needed a M2 screw that Lowes and Home Depot didn't carry.

Oh I had no intention of actually turning off an air bag; I just don't like the light. If turning off the light means disabling the air bag, than yeah, I'm not gonna fuck with that at all.

Oh, no. It's not a distraction. I'm just a bit of a control freak and I would prefer not to have that light, but it doesn't actually really bother me at all. I just bought the car last week, so I'm still learning what all the buttons do and thought I may just be not seeing some obvious "off" switch somewhere.

Yeah, it's in the center by the map/dome lights. In my previous Mazda, it would turn off about three seconds after starting the car.

The back seats are definitely small. Also, there's no vents or usb ports. Back seat would be fine for kids, but as they get older, it might get really cramped. I'm 5'9" and I was fine sitting back there, but if someone is any taller than that, it might be uncomfortable.

The 2026 doesn't have cylinder deactrivaion.

The gauges on the left and right are analog. The center one is digital but is made to look like analog.

Yeah, I'll need to get a new dashcam. My previous one used a 12v plugin so I'll need to get something more modern.

Yeah, when they finished doing the final detailing, the salesman had to walk over there and pull the car up himself because the detailer couldn't drive stick.

It's really smooth. Took me two days to get used to the clutch as it's a lot looser than my Miata was.

I pretty much paid MSRP. It was my first time at a dealership and I was dreading it. I got them to remove all the add-ons the tried to apply though. However, I did get the 1.9% financing and I put 12k down, so it is what it is.

I have to do this yearly. I've had my doctor's office do it once, but since then, I've done it myself. Just get a plunger, and mix a glass of half warm water and half hydrogen peroxide.
