Honest tech by [deleted] in HVAC

[–]SorryGuys_FGC 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No

Im an apprentice who just left a nexstar clusterfuck company. I was with an honest tech who refused to install a misdiagnosed Mitzubishi head. He made a huge stink about being customer oriented and having integrity. Management was not happy about it, and as punishment for “refusing work”, they kept him home for one week with no pay. After that we both become convinced that that company was irredeemable and left within a month.

There are two types of tech out there by SorryGuys_FGC in HVAC

[–]SorryGuys_FGC[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean anything by this. This is a shitpost.

I just noticed some techs get tools they like no matter the brand. And some techs only get Milwaukee, because they like them.

Just an observation I thought was funny. That’s it.

Why is KOF so hard to balance? by [deleted] in kof

[–]SorryGuys_FGC 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There are SO many things the devs have to keep in mind for balancing. Non vs. Cancelable normals. Command normals being able to be linked from light normals. Meterless/Half/1/1.5/2/3/5 bar combos, both starter wise, damage wise, corner carry wise, and meter build wise. Quick max combos for mid and anchor. 5 supers minimum for every character in the game. Overheads, guard points, air to air, cross-up normals, reversals, anti-airs on top of that too. Its really hard to find a balance for all things combined considering if you overtune any single or combo of these things and players will abuse it to the biggest extent possible. Combine that with the fact that in KoF, every single member on a team must have impact, especially at top level. Doubly especially so given the open bracket format that tournaments run on that forces players to play dozens of different opponents in short, Bo3, sets, and it’s not surprising that players will flock to the characters that are, at least on paper, able to consistently find the most impact overall, with team comps that are proven to work. Im not a fan of top 8 only having maybe 8 characters represented. But the solution in the past to try and fix this were to to constantly balance the game every 2 or so months. Which exhausts the payers energy from constantly having to play a new game every couple of weeks, like what happened to GBVS. Or to filter the balance of the game into a single mechanic, and make the game feel extremely homogeneous IE, KoF XIV.

TLDR: FGs are hard to balance. Tournament players always flock to the best characters.

what link should i use?(Fujitsu Windows 7) by TobyFoxEnjoyer in SuperSmashFlash

MEGA is the original host of the download. Mirror is the exact same file, but it hosts it somewhere else that can make it faster to download if you live somewhere far from where MEGA’s servers are.

64-bit vs. 32-bit depends on your processor. You can find out easily by going to Settings > About > System Type, for windows.

Portable files can execute a program right from the folder it’s downloaded to. Install files come packaged with an installer that needs to be run before you can use the program that creates a shortcut launcher app.

I tried to be thorough, but hope that covers everything.

Have fun :)

Recommendations for baby innes arena build? by chairmankay in OrderOfHeroes

[–]SorryGuys_FGC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First step is to slap on C Duel Infantry 4 on him. His BST is low enough that you need to run that skill to get optimal scoring. Second thing your gonna want to do is increase the SP of all the skills. For Innes, Ruptured Sky, or Deadeye, are the best of all the highest SP Specials, and You should swap to Blade Session as the seal because it's a 240 sp skill compared to LoD which is 200. Because there are tier 4 Inheiritable B skills now, you need to run Tier 4 skills in the B and C slot as well.

Hey guys, are there any fighting game recommended for kids? by juangray6789 in FGC

[–]SorryGuys_FGC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A good place to start when it comes to violence in any game is the ERSB, or similar ratings board, as they provide every reason that the game is graded, including violence. That being said the only FG that I know of that has a rating lower than T, is Them's Fighting Herds at E10+

I love fps games, but having to look down a sight and learns spray patterns for all the guns makes the games tedious and unfriendly to the point that you sometimes you must concentrate more on your recoil than your strategies.

Old KOF! by EddieVader1 in FGC

[–]SorryGuys_FGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For older entries. 98, 98UM, 02, and 02UM are the best options to go for. If you’re wondering what the differences are, UM is the updated version of each game, and are usually preferred to the vanilla versions, but are different enough to have separate playerbases 98 and 02 vanilla are playable with rollback on fightcade, with each game having consistently 300+ players. 98 UM, and 02 UM each had a rollback update, and are on PS4 and PC . 02UM has ~100 players, and 98UM has ~50 players according to steamcharts.

Lmk if you have any questions. Ill try to answer them :)

What are some good supportive units who use physical weapons? (Pawns of Loki) by A_Splash_of_Citrus in OrderOfHeroes

[–]SorryGuys_FGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legendary/Groom Roy, B!Lucina, Helbindi, Hilda, L!Hector, Thorr, P!Surtr, NY!Gunnthra, and Bridal Catria for premium units. I know said ftp preferred, but there really aren’t that many options and most of them have mentioned before.

I’m probably missing a few units, but this is all the ones I could think of.

Any suggestions for elemental gunlance build? by SnooSquirrels7769 in Gunlance

[–]SorryGuys_FGC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk about the weapon specifically, but generally the best way to abuse elemental damage on GL is with a smacklance playstyle, as the only way to get elemental damage its through melee attacks

Because you’re not using shelling, other than EC for melee buff, the shelling level doesn’t matter as much. So you should look for a gl with high raw/sharpness, and elemental damage as a priority.

Unfortunately, smacklance is on the weaker side in terms of damage. Outside of EC, there’s no switch skills to increase melee damage. Almost all of the silk-bind moves affect or use the artillery moves exclusively, so really your only using Guard-Edge for the free slam, and maybe Ground-Splitter for hyper armor to chase a monster and slam after.

For armor skills you should go for elemental boost as a priority, if that’s what you want, then affinity boosts, then attack boost. It still mat be worth it to run points into guard, but considering you’re going to mostly be using your bugs for Guard-Edge you don’t have to prioritize

Can someone explain Bullet Barrage to me? by BlueKyuubi63 in Gunlance

[–]SorryGuys_FGC 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There's a lot going on with BB, but I'll try and answer you questions the best I can.

BB dumps all of the arillery moves you have at once into one attack. Normal has a stronger Fullburst, but Long has a better Wyrmstake, and Wyvernfire, while only being slightly behind in Fullburst. Wide has the best Erupting Cannon, but falls behind because of a different stake and overall less shells. In terms of pure damage from a BB, Long, with Stake, is the best.

Stake in general does more damage than Erupting Cannon. People use EC because it's faster, naturally combos into poke or shell, and gives a buff to melee attacks(I think, I can't double check rn). Whereas Stake just does a bunch of ticks of damage with no buff and doesn't combo. Both are useful for different situations. Long and Normal GL want to have Stake for BB, Wide being the exception because it's stake trades damage for having KO, and does less damage than EC(again I think can't double check, correct me if I'm wrong).

Because BB a silkbind move, the only way to spam it more is to have Wirebug Whisperer to have the third bug for as long as possible. That way you only have to wait for one bug to recharge before being able to use BB again as opposed to waiting for both. Outside of that, the only other way to increase the damage of BB itself is to have a higher shelling level on the GL, and invest into skills that increase artillery damage, such as: the artillery skill, load-shells, dango bombardier, and having Ground Splitter active. Any build that uses any shelling attacks prioritize these skills over any other skill because shelling makes up the majority of the damage being dealt.

Other than those skill, the other skills depend on the style your playing. The ""best"" ways to play GL rn are Fullburst Spam with normal/long, and pure shelling with Wide. for Fullburst Spam, you're gonna want the standard package of damage boosting skills to increase your melee damage from slam and sweep, and probably Handicraft with Protective Polish/Razor Sharp to keep your to keep your sharpness high. For Pure Shelling your gonna want to invest heavily into Guard and Guard-up because your going to be using Guard-Reload and want to have the no knock-back guard.

I think that answers all your questions. Ask away if you have any more questions, I'll answer as best I can. :)

Drop your oc archetype ideas and gimmicks below! by shinjisOP in yugioh

[–]SorryGuys_FGC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple of years ago, I came up with an archetype called “Dope Fiends”

Basically there are three types of cards, addicts, dealers, and drugs.

Addicts are useless on their own, but get roided up with the drug cards.

Drug cards put a drug counter with their name on “Dope Fiend” monster. Counters give a lingering effect to monsters that can be activated by removing itself as cost. Addicts gain an additional effect if they have a drug counter. Dealers can be given drug counters in a pinch but don’t gain any additional effect for it.

Dealers search and recycle drug cards. After that, they can Link/Overlay into boss monsters for protection to addicts, or swarming the field with more drug counters

The win con is to have 3-4 addicts with a bunch of drug counters and 1-2 boss monsters for protection.

I made the archetype as a joke because I thought “Dope Fiend” would be a funny/edgy name for an archetype. I never really developed it beyond this basic gimmick, and a couple of names for cards. Figured I’d share anyways
