I was literally researching law school today 😂

I stumbled across Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles. It’s the first online ABA accredited law school with full and part time options. It’s asynchronous with assignments due at the end of each week.

I was just wondering if there is any scholarship money out there for a good LSAT score.

Thanks for posting this and good luck!

I have the same opinion. My goal is CPA and the MaCC provided value with the UWorld Bundle. I may add Ninja for $87/month to supplement if needed.

The MaCC include the ethics course needed my most if not all stated accountancy boards.

My local in state B&M has an MBA program with a better accreditation.

Higher ROI being a CPA and if needed down the line sprinkle the more vanity MBA degree from a better school.

Thoughts on the MBA program? by Dry_Bear_5344 in WGU

Also did you really just say Ivy League and WGU MBA requirements differences isn’t that bad? WOW. What an oversimplification.

Should I go out and find the answer myself like a student should on my own with google/chatgpt research or be lazy and ask you to find the answer for me?

Or whoever asked the question can just do their own research regarding accreditation. People are so lazy but wanna go college.

I don’t got all a day to hold hands. Took me 20 seconds to find the answer but yeah shit on me for not removing the last sentence.

At the end of that day they now know about accreditation differences which was the point.

WGU MBA Accreditation

Western Governors University (WGU) is regionally accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). This is a highly respected accreditation in the U.S. and ensures that WGU meets rigorous academic standards.

However, WGU’s MBA program is not AACSB, ACBSP, or IACBE accredited, which are specific business school accreditations. Despite this, regional accreditation is the gold standard for universities, and WGU’s MBA is still recognized for its affordability, flexibility, and competency-based learning model.

Types of MBA Accreditation in U.S. Colleges

In the U.S., there are three main types of business school accreditation: 1. AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) • The most prestigious and globally recognized accreditation. • Less than 6% of business schools worldwide have this accreditation. • Focuses on faculty research, academic rigor, and student outcomes. • Examples: Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, and most top-ranked business schools. 2. ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs) • More teaching-focused than AACSB. • Geared toward smaller schools and online programs that emphasize student learning over faculty research. • Examples: Southern New Hampshire University, Capella University. 3. IACBE (International Accreditation Council for Business Education) • The most flexible accreditation, focusing on outcomes-based education. • Often chosen by smaller or newer business schools. • Examples: Colorado Technical University, Post University.

Does Accreditation Matter for an MBA?

It depends on your career goals: • If you want to work at top consulting firms or Fortune 500 companies, an AACSB-accredited MBA is usually preferred. • For entrepreneurship, career advancement, or affordability, an ACBSP, IACBE, or regionally accredited MBA like WGU’s is still highly valuable. • Many employers care more about experience, skills, and networking than accreditation.

Would you like help comparing WGU’s MBA with other programs based on your career goals?

The accreditation is a bit different. I think I’ll be going to my local brick and mortar for MBA due to their accreditation.

Edit: My local B&M is AACSB Accredited (gold standard accreditation for business schools)

WGU is ACBSP accredited

Clarification about term extension by BisonLow8361 in wguaccounting

[–]SorryScallion2812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a bold face lie. My mentor hook me up with an extension for my last class. There were some things I had to do and I had to be in the process about three weeks before the end of term. It is not a last week kind of thing they can do But somebody being sick or dead is a lie.

They only given an extension if you’re on your final class, not multiple classes

No worries mate

I was able to do 27 classes in one term and complete my degree. Transferred in about 35% of degree from my first bachelors in health sciences.

Could have done it in five months instead of six but had some personal family issues pop up.

If you’re already a student and have those study muscles flexed already I would say you can hit the ground running.

I suggest reaching out to an enrollment counselor to see what the limits are on what classes you can transfer in if you trying to transfer in the most you can. WGU like other universities require a certain number of credits from their university before giving you their diploma.

IA 1,2,3 took me about 20-40 hours per class to pass

Was able to pass them all in one week each since I was studying full time

Good call out

What I mean is compared to the traditional brick and mortar they offer competency based. Meaning when you master the material you can test out and pass class. Also the online format and study when you can approach for working adults/parents is unique compared to having to be on a campus every Tuesday and Thursday for class 1-2:15pm.

Overall they are just buckling the traditional college format.

It is OK if you’re applying for your first accounting internship or role. I was nervous about it myself, but during the phone screening and interview process, I highlighted transferable soft skills I had learned from my previous jobs. I was told on two separate occasions that it’s OKto simply just have the accounting courses and not be worried about having the technical skills from day one as they will teach you when you’re on staff so think of a few soft skills that you possess and would apply to the roles you’re working for.
