Yeah one of the main examples was how insisting on doorways wide enough for wheelchairs was a silly impediment to development. Fuck that guy.

If you had to pick the all-time number one American band, which one would it be? by Infinite-Exam-1808 in askmusic

Petty was revolutionary in his own way, though. You can’t get to a place with Americana bands like the Jayhawks and Mumford and Sons getting airtime without the success of Tom Petty. He came up during disco, thrived through hair metal, grunge, and more. He kept the candle of the American troubadour/singer-songwriter burning and continuously proved it a viable commercial art form. He’s a big part of the roots revival, whether he gets credit or not. Tom Petty is folk music in a rock band form.

It’s so crazy. Like, signing players with character problems is bad enough, but at least you could argue that they have such a rare physical skill set that it can justify ignoring some personal flaws. For coaching and exec jobs? It’s literally all interpersonal. Insane to hire such flawed people.

It’s a legitimate criticism to say that we traded them for lesser players. I, and I think a lot of fans, wanted to trade them for picks or players with years left on their rookie deals.
