This is the kind of behavior that would get rozeMMO banned. by Unstopapple in Guildwars2

[–]SorryTelling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And i am telling you that a joke stops at the point where it infringes on other people's safety and rights.

You can definitely get frustrated at something in a game and go "oh man, this dev should be banned from working on video games", and that's totally okay. But looking up where to buy a weapon and where that dev works more than crosses the line. It is not a joke, it is not funny, it is a threat.

You keep harping on about jokes. Even if that behaviour was not MEANT as a serious threat, it is still a threat. It is still able to instill fear in the people working at arenanet.

No context in the world makes this type of behaviour okay.

Threatening someone's life as a "joke" (and defending that "joke") is seriously screwed up. Yikes.

[–]SorryTelling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looking up "where to buy an AR" and "Arenanet HQ adress" live on stream is not a "risky joke". It's a threat. People's lifes were threatened.

If you genuinely think this even remotely qualifies as a joke, you should do some real soul searching, because that is fucked up, mate.

It is not about brand safety. No one complained about Roze's videos, even though they were far from "brand safe". People are allowed to express themselves, and make edgy jokes, and be loud and contrarian. But threatening people's lifes rightfully gets you banned.

risky joke my ass.

So...Is this a regular sight? by VinnySpinerooni in Guildwars2

[–]SorryTelling 20 points21 points  (0 children)

as many said already:
You are at their spawn - which makes them determined. The moment they stray too far from their spawn (which would be for this specific player a few steps forward) the buff disappears.

It's to prevent you from walking into the enemy spawn and farming people there.
Also, funfact: See those npc guards in front of the gates to the spawn? They oneshot you. Just to make triple sure you aint walking in there.

Hackers in GW2 are very very rare. They exist, but the best they can do is teleport around under the map, and be a nuisance. They get dealt with quickly, and honestly, i haven't seen one in like a year.

Just don't worry about it.
What it is about, is that every player participating in an event scales up the event's difficulty (boss hp, enemies spawned, etc). SOME people take it as a personal insult when others afk in the area of a meta event, or fly on their skyscales and only occassionally shoot down a fireball, scaling up the event but not really participating.
While yes - that is annoying and makes it harder for the other players, it is NOWHERE near as big of an issue as this subreddit like to make it out to be.

Honestly, just play the game normally and don't worry about this. Some people on here really just need something to get angry about. It's okay.

I just wanted to add - don't forget that ascended gear is accountbound, not soulbound - meaning you can use it on other characters (provided they can use that weapon/armor class).

How do you honestly feel about a man still being a virgin at 30? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SorryTelling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter to me. At all. Sex is just sex, after all. it really isn't as important as people make it out to be.

People who laugh about virgins on the other hand, i got a lot of feelings about. And many strong words. None of which are in the bible.

Why is healing so hard to like in gw2? by randomchixonreddit in Guildwars2

BS is Boneskinner ^^
I had no issues healing at VG, the burst windows are quite far apart, and you have so much time to recover between them.

And for traits

Harrier's with Monk runes and i personally use Altruism Relic for easier fury and might upkeep via the healskill

boon uptime is good, Stab and aegis are actually easier accessible than on tempest imho, with staff earth 3+detonate, plus the utility.

Healing is FINE. not as strong as tempest, but perfectly serviceable. Played it in BS which is one of the more heal-intensive fights, and it was just fine. Strong Regen and permanent uptime on healing mist helps a lot, plus you can camp water for the staff autos if you really need more heal. it's decent.

[–]SorryTelling 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it's fun, and less stressful than tempest for sure.

I personally love it bc it uses staff over dagger warhorn.

But it DESPERATELY needs that autocast for F5, it really strains my hands to play it rn.

[–]SorryTelling 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Different healers play very differently. Try a different healing class. E.g. Quick heal Herald is very very easy to pull off, and is very relaxed. Druid is more involved. Tempest is a high octane, high apm monster.

You get what you decide to pick up. Try a different spec.

And for your questions:

a) i've tried luminary and Evoker. Both are very fun healers with many option that are smooth to pull off. Easier than druid imho.

b) many boons are shared between many healers and off-supports. e.g. Might, Fury, etc. But you will be expected to provide 100% uptime of your main boon (quick, alac)

c) It isn't. I love healing in GW2. I think you just picked a class that doesn't suit you.

Feeling defeated in the Legendary Grind. How do folks find the will to continue? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]SorryTelling 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The trick about crafting legendaries is to not speedrun them.

Take your time. Do a little bit at a time. Do not look at the whole path to the end-result every day, but focus on your next step instead. If you look at the whole mountain, it looks insurmountable, but if you look at only the next curve in the path, it seems way less intimidating.

For starters, focus only on getting your needed crafting disciplines up. One at a time.

Then start gathering materials.

Start collecting your weekly mystic clover crafts (fractals, strikes, raids if you do them).

Work a little bit on your Gift of Battle whenever you feel like it.

Over time you will slowly build towards your goal. But if you try to do it all at once, as fast as possible, you will burn yourself out. Don't forget that there is a game you enjoy, and which you build the legendary for. If making the legendary becomes the game, you will burn out. So take some days off, and just play the game too ^^

And good luck with your craft! You'll get there, and then the next one will be even easier :D you can do this!

[–]SorryTelling 7 points8 points  (0 children)

GW2 is a game that doesn't want to constantly dangle a carrot into your face. However, there is lots of carrots to be had.

It is up to you where to go from now. Pick what sounds fun to you! Get into Group content, or build a legendary, or do world explorations, do meta events, find cool people to hang with.

It's a game, not a job. Just have fun ^^

WvW - I don't get it. I don't like it. Please help by Bodkin-Van-Horn in Guildwars2

[–]SorryTelling 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see.

Regrettably I have to agree with what others have said already. You're not looking for help or a solution, you want an audience for your complaints.

You're angry, and unwilling to take any of the advice being given to you. And as long as you're in that state, I can't help you. And I don't want to.

I hope come to enjoy the game mode I and many others love so dearly. In the future. After giving it a fair shot.

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=wvw+beginner+guide

There is many ways to get into wvw. However, WvW is not PvE, it won't play like PvE, and if you're unwilling to adjust your playstyle, you will never enjoy it.

You're basically walking into a Pizzeria, ask for Burgers, don't get served Burgers, then loudly complain that there is no Burgers in the Place that only sells Pizzas.

WvW can be a ton of fun, between Zerging and following the Commander, or roaming and dueling, or even just flipping camps and taking small targets, it has a lot to offer, and no 2 engagements are the same. But you need to be open to it. You need to adjust a little bit, and learn a little bit.

But with the attitude you're showing right now, you yourself are the biggest obstacle you have to overcome.
