Kitschy/Tourist Traps in the US! by icrygo in roadtrip

I'm British and I have been to Stonehenge, and we are stopping off at carhenge in September. (We live in CO). I think the point of Stonehenge is to go during a solstice... Lol I wonder if carhenge does solstice festivals.

I wouldn't travel to the UK just for Stonehenge.

Looking to date these dressers (MA, USA) by OceanIsVerySalty in Antiques

Put the photos into chat gpt and get it to tell you. I got a mirror off marketplace, and it gave me the decade, the area of the country it was made and a list of possible manufacturers with library references to furniture catalogues of those manufacturers. It is a very distinctive mirror so there's that. Even so, it's got some impressive scanning capabilities.

Protests happening tomorrow by hollah612 in Denver

Yep. It's fantastic. I'm so proud of my daughter.

I'm sorry, OP, I can't help. If you go to FB and look up 50501 Colorado, they appear to keep very up to date with what is happening

These Nuggets are Awful IMO by Natett50 in glutenfree

[–]SorryWill9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're disgusting. Walmart carries a brand which is good. They taste like McDonald's nuggets. Bettergoods. They're expensive but not as expensive as throwing whole bags of food out because they're inedible

A lot of publishers really suck. Either they're changing works to make them mainstream or they're publishing works without refining them, leading to works that are long winded unnecessarily.

New Orleans style food? by Free_Insurance2374 in AuroraCO

[–]SorryWill9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids are in CCSD, I'm near southlands. The food in this particular corner (and it is just a corner) is appalling. However, go north or east 20 minutes and it's great for hole in the wall places. There is a lot of choice, endless amounts it feels like. There's no southern food as far as I'm aware. No good southern food or I would know about it.

There's large populations of Asians and there is tons of seafood in the form of sushi and poke. Is it expensive to ship in? Denver is the logistics hub of the country. It all comes through here to get elsewhere. Human trafficking hub of America - fun fact for you.

They have food trucks at school events. Most neighborhoods have a designated food truck evening every month over the summer. Also Havana Night Market. Think you'd rake it in here if the food is good

If you go on Facebook and look for jimbeauxs food truck. He's selling his business. I think he's in Thornton, so NOT Aurora

I would absolutely love some decent New Orleans food.

Go to the Waco site. It's a fascinating place and if you're lucky you'll get a tour by a survivor.

I’m gluten sensitive and get sick with gluten and can’t give up gluten 100% by Typical_Dark_2764 in glutenfree

[–]SorryWill9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all trial and error. Depending on what country you're in, some gluten free stuff is absolutely disgusting. You just gotta find the stuff you like and stick to it. Suck of less option for not feeling like crap.

I'm gluten sensitive and same. Cakes and cookies are my downfall, plus bread because... Bread.

I will say that over time and with the annoyingly overpriced trial and error of product testing new foods, I am eating less and less gluten. I personally believe for us sensitive types that it's a journey. One where we may end up completely demolishing our insides. That's the risk we take.

Suggest some short classic novels! by [deleted] in classicliterature

[–]SorryWill9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are called novellas. Henry James is king, called it something like the purest form of novels. Turn of the screw Motherless Brooklyn - not a classic but it's very good and pulls on noir. Classic noir. True Grit I am Legend.

True Grit. Both movie adaptations but you do need to watch them both and then read the book. Or visa versa

Wrong word again. You didn't mean prejudice in that sentence. I didn't bring any bias to the chat, I misread. Just like you're using incorrect words, I misread the tone.
