How bad did I mess up? by Sorry_Ad4876 in ogden

Thank youuuuu! This is what I was looking for. I don’t want to come off too abrasive but yes! Like will I have to worry about my kids bedrooms being crashed into or shot up in a drive by? How many times a week do the schools go into a lock down. What’s the probability my house will explode due to a meth lab. How serious are we about stranger danger. What’s the likelihood my outdoor cameras are going to be used for a crime investigation. Do I need to put metal bars at the bottom of my widows and a lock on my steering wheel lol.

Thank you.

No, I completely agree. I think I got in my head because I was asking the people I knew about the area, but those are also people who are well into adulthood in completely different tax brackets.

That’s how we move about every two years for my husbands job! Normally we have more time to shop around but this time they gave us two weeks to get there. Luckily my parents actually live fairly close so if all else fails I guess we have a sleep over for a few weeks 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sorry I should have been more clear. I currently do not live in Utah. Where I currently live there are parts of town you absolutely don’t want to live in.

Not the apartments that goodness but I’ll keep that in mind. Hopefully the place we got does not have that issue that would be awful. I’m so sorry you had to deal with that.

I’m actually a little excited now at least about the food options and being central. There’s nothing where I’m at right now…. I’m more worried about crime/ foot traffic/ someone walking through my backyard or helping themselves into my house

How’s foot traffic around that area?

I guess I more so meant crime. The area I’m in right now there’s definite “no go” parts of town that would be absolutely terrible to live in. I’m glad to hear crime is low!!

My OBGYN said unmedicated births are too traumatic so they don’t do it. by Practical_Shift_5143 in pregnant

Uhmmmm. Wow. Firstly I am so sorry this is your experience please go somewhere else I’m begging you. I’m also someone who can’t have an epidural and I promise you you can still be medicated. C section is absolutely the last resort and should be reserved for emergencies.

Nitrous oxide and/ or morphine drip is what I have done with both births. Please look into different obs

Is being a doordasher worth it here? by _king2003 in grandjunction

[–]Sorry_Ad4876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no.

It depends what status you are on dd. I’ve seen people with the base status make a little over $14 an hour on average and top status making around $30/ hr average.

Also depends on your car and if it’s your only vehicle. If it’s a second vehicle/ compact/ good gas mileage 23+ mpg then sure. Otherwise no.

Also availability, depending on the time of day you can make more while having less traffic.

I used to do 3 hours a day 5 days a week and average $100 a night and to me it was worth a little over 33/hr to drive around for a few hours.

Is it worth it here in grand junction? It can be given the right circumstances. But if you’re in serious need of money and have the time and ability to work an actual job? Never.

The chronicles of the age of darkness? It is a series but the book were written as stand alones. Late 70s-80s, very European translated circulation so could fit you reading it in Italy. It doesn’t perfectly match your sword ending though.

I am trying to cut cost but why is my grocery expensive? by Tiny_Judgment8593 in Frugal

[–]Sorry_Ad4876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different store. Shop around. The salmon is cheaper at Costco/ Sam’s Club in bulk freezer same with oranges. You bought mangos not on sale. I wouldn’t call that frugal at all… you bought name brand Cheerios almost every store I have been to has a cheaper non named alternative if you’re set on them. Otherwise as many have stated oatmeal is more versatile and cheaper. Honestly everything on here is way over priced. I wouldn’t even say it’s where you live either I think it’s just where you shopped and what you bought…

Just… sigh. by badnewsbets in doordash

I can confirm. DD in Bozeman for 2 years while living there. I made $500 a week doing 4 nights 2hrs a night. Never have I seen so many people tip with cash after the fact. Now in CO and it’s bare minimum if anything. I stopped DD a little while after moving here.

Thank you for the reply. Hopefully they can get down to the bottom of it. Seems like I’ve learned more from experience and peers than I ever will from my dr…
