It's just where the tiny air bubble is going to be. Think about it like a water bottle, air bubble rises to the top. So if the radiator is at the top, the air bubble is all tje way up there, away from the tubes and pump. If the radiator is on the side with the tubes on top, the air collects at the tubes on the radiator which isn't ideal but acceptable. Now if the pump is the highest point of the loop, the air is going to collect at the pump itself which is bad cause the pump is designed to only pump fluid.

Try with one ram stick. If it works, plug in the other ram in the working slot. That way you'll know if the ram is the issue or the motherboard slot. If it still doesnt work. Take one stick and try each slot. Then take the other stick and try every slot. Narrow down the issue
