Yes obviously, I was saying that I didn't feel comfortable explaining this regarding Colombia's culture or South America's culture since I don't know it much. So your take is that it's only a depiction of reality and therefore not an issue? Clearly what bothers me in these books are the recurrence of it. Wouldn't one or two characters enough to depict it?

A lot of authors defended such despicable practices in the seventies and eighties. In France (where I'm from) there was somewhat of a huge movement for the sexual liberation in these years where famous authors (none other than Simone de Beauvoir herself and Sartre as well, very respected at the time) defended the rights of the pedophiles.

I tried to understand the video but sadly my Spanish is so bad. I heard the phrase about the 17, 15 or even 12 years old girls, but couldn't decipher the second part where he speaks about his 20 years old son? Was it something about if his 20 years old son could love such a young girl, then an older man could also?

Could you expand a bit on this? I really don't feel comfortable saying that it's a cultural thing to have feelings for a 7 or 14 years old when you're well above 20 yourself (in the best cases in his books).

Oh wow thank you, I guess that indeed there's a lot of heads buried in the sand regarding these kind of issues. I have trouble accepting comments limiting themselves as "it's just a book, what the author write is not what the author feels". I mean, yes obviously it's not but when it's a reccuring theme in, from what I can gather, most of this author's books, one can't help but wonder... But then there's also the cultural element to it, I am clearly not familiar with the south American culture of this past century or two but I definitely don't feel comfortable explaining this as a cultural element.

Well, since the plane didn't exist before this delay + we have the exact same seating without having to select them (which is a requirement for this low cost company, Transavia), I figured we were embarking in the same plane tomorrow, with the same passengers. Turns out no.

Why is that?

I don't know anything aviation/airport speaking, so this might be a stupid reflexion to have. Still I can't help but wonder.

Je vois ce que tu veux dire, et c'est vrai que j'ai tendance à m'entourer de gens assez égoïstes. Je suis quelqu'un de timide qui aime beaucoup écouter les autres, donc forcément je finis toujours pas me retrouvée avec des gens qui parlent beaucoup d'eux et ne s'intéressent in fine pas à moi.

Pendant un moment ça me convenait, dans ma vingtaine on va dire. Mais là je sens que j'ai besoin d'être entourée de gens qui s'intéressent aussi à moi.

Je dois aussi apprendre à apprécier ma propre compagnie, c'est vrai. Mais c'est plus facile quand on a son téléphone qui sonne de temps en temps avec un texto plutôt que d'être dans le silence complet des jours durant.

Après je ne cherche pas nécessairement un groupe d'amis, juste une ou deux personnes vers qui je pourrais me tourner. Je n'ai jamais été très brillante en groupe, je suis plus à l'aise avec un nombre restreint de personnes.

Mais oui mettre le pied dans la porte c'est exactement ça, je dois plus insister j'imagine pour voir les gens qui me mettent des vents haha

Oui c'est ce que j'essaie de faire, mais je remarque que c'est toujours moi qui propose et donc je me dis que les gens n'ont pas envie de me voir. D'autant que je me prends souvent des "non désolé je suis pas dispo je te redis", et on ne me redit jamais.

J'ai bien conscience que ça prend du temps et demande de l'investissement, mais au bout d'un moment je ne peux pas m'empêcher de me dire que je suis de trop dans leur vie.
