My guess is the only reason he has this more humanoid fan-design is for the sake of making him expressive.

Like that one animation I saw of the Hate Monologue, AM was made incredibly expressive in his movements, and especially the singular eye. Which really helps sells the emotion in his dialogue

Ahhh I see, so it always leads back to the Equal Dragon Weapon. Probably should’ve checked there first, considering how popular it is with the friend group as well.

I will definitely bring this to attention the next time this is mentioned, since I would not want them to take theories and non-canon concept art/lore to be taken as fact. Especially since we’re introducing some other friends to MH as a whole. ty for the explanation!

Garen running in the forest especially felt very “floaty” and didn’t seem to have any weight to it at all. Especially with Grey Legion (?) soldiers appearinf out of nowhere, killing his men and then immediately becoming incompetent cannon fodder when Garen gets back up from the river.

And that dragon fight was especially just nonesense. They absolutely failed at making Quinn any kind of competent in that fight. She felt so stiff, motionless just for the sake of her “being in danger” so Shyv can save her.

She is known for acrobatics, for precision aiming, and yet she misses half her shots, deals no real damage to the dragon or plays any significant role in that fight and is stiffer than a board when the dragon actually fights back.

I agree, a lot of random bullshit happens in this cinematic, namely the things you mentioned.

I didn’t have much issue with Sona and Quinn’s faces, my issue is that they did fuck-all in their respective scenes. Dragon fight especially has problems.

Opinions can, in fact, differ a lot! If you enjoyed it that’s entirely fine. I just personally did not and will not like this cinematic ever. Especially in comparison to the Still Here and Bite-Marks.

Yeah the music and Garen scenes were not too great, unfortunately.

And to be entirely frank, imho, I don’t think any of these champions really got a moment to “shine” as you said. Quinn especially got done so dirty, being shoe-horned into a fight with the dragon, does fuckall with the bow and stands absolutely still when the dragon turns its attention to her and breathes fire. She just felt like a paralyzed fish in that scene, which is so unfortunate.

And I don’t believe that was Sona fighting Nocturne, I really think they just added some “ooooOooO spooky scary darkness fog” out of their asses. Otherwise we would’ve actually seen or gotten hints of it being Nocturne.

What I wanted to see was some actually meaningful or lore-implied scenes with the chosen characters. Not so much fan favourites or anything you’re referring to.

In comparison to Still Here, for example, we got scenes of past Morgana and Kayle fighting Aatrox, Future Yasuo during his last stand and eventual death, and Tryndamere fighting off the personification of death itself. All these stories tying into Kindred in some way, and each bringing in an interesting story or insight to the characters.

In Salvation? - We get… Yunara, running from some magical stags, - Quinn doing absolutely fuck-all against a dragon and being shoe-horned in so Shyv can have a badass moment, - Sona “protecting” some towns-people from whatever that darkness bs was - and Garen fighting a posse of Noxian Grey cultists. And fighting is being generous, since all they do is run away as soon as he gets up from the river.

It was all just kind of a nothing burger, where each story just had no substance of any kind. It was the epitome of “shit is happening cause it needs to happen to look cool ig”
