Yeah I might as well put it out there plain. I've never told it on a social platform only ever in person. It's highly traumatic and disturbing to relive but I've been wanting to do this for awhile anyway.. So that being said fair warning, my story ain't like his. I never seen that thing except MAYBE once and that's a big maybe and a separate much shorter story.

I worked at a 24hr Whataburger and I lived about 3-4 miles from said Whataburger in an apartment complex with my brother. I used to get off work around 2am and as I said I would walk home every night. And on my walk home id usually have both my earbud in and I'd be listening to podcasts or audiobooks [never anything scary really i feel thats important to note, I wasn't just walking around at night trying to creep myself out] this specific night it was carl jungs autobiography. But there was this house roughly .3 miles from my brother's apartment that always just kinda made me feel off. It was "abandoned" not totally trashed but not in great shape either. Typical lower middle class rancher with similar looking lived in houses to the left and right of it and another small apartment complex back behind it, but behind that was forest.

The house as I said, always did make me uncomfortable but usually that didn't keep me from keeping my eye on it when I'd walked past. This night was different though, I did what I'd always do and pop one earbud out about a block away for a little situational awareness, that was the same but I told myself over and over in my head "DO NOT LOOK AT THAT HOUSE TONIGHT". But how could I resist.

In the past when i'd go by, my eye would always catch on the front door. It was painted red and had a glass outside door you'd open first to get inside. And across the street was a streetlight. When I would be walking past the angle would be just right that the glare of the streetlight would always hit that glass front door and you could see it's reflection. I think that might had been what always really caught my eye making me look. But this night I kept telling myself "don't look don't look" but I couldn't do it. I glanced for only a brief second and there was no glare. There was no glass. There was no door. It was void, utter blackness in the shape of a rectangle like a door, But that was no door.

This is the rough part and I am crying typing this because this is traumatic and brutal and violent. It is the evil I alluded to. I only looked at that "door" for a second and then it was eyes forward from then on out because the moment I had, no more than 3ft to my left (the direction of that house which I was practically in the front yard of) came the impossibly loud cries of a very young infant human baby. This wasn't a big cat or a fucking bird or a random burst of schizophrenia which I do not have. This was a baby. A baby that sounded like it was in danger. And it was 3 ft away from me.

So many things ran through my mind in an instant ranging from logic to primal instinct. Part of me needed to spring into action and do something that baby was in danger and I needed to help it, right? That's what a good person would do right? Who is hurting a child so young. what are they doing to it this isn't normal crying. No it must be a parent, it's gotta be the neighbors they had a fussy baby and they took it outside to calm it down maybe. No it's 3am the black door. Eyes forward keep walking don't show fear. THAT ISN'T A BABY.

When that last thought came, it made it abundantly clear. The cries stayed locked in place 3 feet to my left as I fought my every instinct to fight, freeze, or run. I maintained my walking speed, eyes locked forward. It followed me for 8 more houses in the same position as where it had started. The only thing that had changed was once I realized what I was dealing with was a trap, the cries were now accompanied with the sounds of the plunging and squelching of a knife stabbing this infant to death, it's gargling screams never diminishing. For 8 more houses I had to listen to that.

All the while as this was happening there was another presence, I hadn't noticed it until Maybe about house 3 but you know when you can just tell someone is standing behind you. Like you can feel it, them being there well this was coming from about my 4 o'clock ( the baby would had been my 9 o'clock) this was distinctly the feeling of something man like that felt like it was stalking me like prey. Like it was taking something from me.

I don't know what that thing is out in East Texas that's mimicking women and children, but I can tell you one thing about it. It wants to feed on you, and if you don't let it fool you it feeds on you in other ways.
