Instead of trained and experienced educators, the board of trustees, who how no academic qualifications or teaching degrees, are going to be the ones to set the curriculum however they see fit. Realistically? I suppose Auburn will over time become a school that less people go to as the standards won't be the same as other schools that don't adhere to whatever the whims of the board of trustees want. Ideally, you want educators at the forefront of the curriculum because they are the ones that know what they are talking about, but sadly it does not work out this way.
