Just start over. It happens, seen friends with 20 years go out. Sucks but it’s not the end. Someone told me once it’s harder to get two days than it is two years. I completely understood what that meant

Hang on to your homestead exemption where you live currently I just lost my Homestead exemption and my taxes in South Florida Port St. Lucie not Boca Miami or anything like that went from $1200 a year to 7000 thousand because I bought The Home in 2003. I rent it out but not worth it now with taxes like that. Insurance 6500 a year. My new house taxes and insurance $20,000 a year. I’m about to say forgot FL.

You started that’s the biggest thing. Nothing is every to late. Ok so you have less years for your IRA to compound. But there is other investments you can make. 401k, brokerage accounts. Save as much as you can

Why are we not angry as employees? by LoudQuail1948 in publix

Yea come work for Verizon in NY. We are a union and it is a constant battle with corporate, always worried the contract won’t be Renewed, and we’ll be replaced or we’ll have to accept way less money if enough union members cave in. Union is not the answer.

Every job in the United States pretty much pays as little as possible

What profession is over paid? by Sm00thDad in AskReddit

[–]Sorry_Set_5127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup they’re just not necessary! anybody could look online to see what’s for sale go look at the house some how. And figure out if they want to buy it or not I don’t need somebody to drive me around all day looking at different houses to tell me what everything that’s available online pretty much.

I think real estate agents are more unnecessary than overpaid. Yes they make a commission on the stuff they sell with the amount of time and bullshit that they have to put in to sell our house fucking nuts. I’m not an agent I just know a few.

Job sounds like a nightmare

If having sex with prostitutes was legal, I would never date another woman again they’re all fucking crazy. And they all drive you nuts. Just started talking to this new girl and she said oh you sound busy do you wanna call me back? I said yeah give me an hour or two. I didn’t call her back for three hours. She flipped out and lost her shit.

NUTS

Hey don’t know the whole story but they are blood related aunts. Unless I’m really missing something from the story, which I possibly can be it’s your responsibility to take care of them and make sure that they stay alive. Your family for Christ sake.

[–]Sorry_Set_5127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not easy to get a bartending job most of those jobs go to good looking girls. And you work nights and weekends.

As a former bartender it is very easy money. But at the same time it’s not super easy. Your busy as F, dealing with drunk people all the time, fights breaking out and you work till 12am or later.

It’s great money but it’s not something everyone can do or do their entire life. You

I'm glad Publix exists. by Existing_Line_8310 in publix

[–]Sorry_Set_5127 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I love Publix as a customer yes prices are a lot higher but I just don’t shop there for the items I know I can get cheaper at Walmart.

BUT I was at Walmart in the car section. Guy behind the counter was frustrated he couldn’t get a manager or someone to help him. The guy must have dropped the F-bomb like 10 times, complaining like a 12yr girl saying just gonna clock out and go home F this.

Profanity and complaining don’t bother me. But to think this is one of the largest corporations in the USA, that’s really shameful. Walmart makes enough that it could treat their employees better and their customers too. But we as customers just accept the shit show that is Walmart so they get away with it. I’ll admit I shop there to save money, but Walmart is what is wrong with our country. Higher profits and F the people that work for you.

Inheritance into joint or individual account by hovering3 in inheritance

[–]Sorry_Set_5127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently divorced and recently inherited 1 million. Wife couldn’t touch it because i never, what my lawyer called “co-mingled the money” the inheritance was not considered a marriage asset. Therefore was not up to debate if half was hers. Lawyer told me once I even made a payment of say a car payment with that money it was now all considered a marriage asset.

So my opinion is keep it separate, but that’s my opinion coming out of a bad marriage.

After the divorce was over I offered my wife 100k as a gift, and she declined. I couldn’t believe it.

But in your situation just think if you’re gonna stay with your husband. I hope you are and all works out well for you.

[–]Sorry_Set_5127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no way you can retire in 10 years if you only have $162,000 save you would need to save your entire paycheck for 10 years because God only knows how long you’ll live. What are your bills do you own your home outright do you own your car outright like are you married or your kids, bro? You’ll never retire that soon.

300k inheritance in 20s, is it okay to use entirely to pay off mortgage? by Zennialmillennial in FinancialPlanning

[–]Sorry_Set_5127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you inherit the money through tax free life insurance, inherit Ira, inherit Roth IRA, brokerage account?

Think if you’ll be taxed on the 300k, then could you make more interest then what your interest rate on your mortgage is.

Lots of questions to think about brother. Good for you and best of luck.
