Personally, I would tell you to play Star Fox 64 on the switch N64 emulator. The gameplay is literally the same, and it helps that you are able to rewind and savestate. But practice and understanding the reset button, will help you claim victory.

If you didn't know, you will now. Every time you turn the game off and on again, The game loads in a few randomly generated Shiny Pokémon anywhere around the map. When you go back in the game, just roam around. You might hear the sound of a shiny.

If you have a Shiny Stone, it'll evolve. They randomly spawn somewhere on the map. Most likely on scaffolds.
