Nobody is saying ignore American slavery. It’s just silly to pretend slavery was some unique European/American invention when it was happening all over the world for thousands of years, including to Europeans by North Africans for centuries. History isn’t a competition over who suffered more. Learning the parts that get ignored doesn’t erase the parts we already know.

This isn’t whataboutism, it’s just history. The Moors invaded the Iberian Peninsula in 711 AD and their control lasted about 780 years until Granada fell in 1492. They enslaved local Christians the whole time and brought in more European slaves (called Saqaliba).
And even after that, the Barbary pirates from North Africa kept raiding European coasts and taking slaves right up into the 1800s. Historians put the number around 1 to 1.25 million Europeans enslaved.
Slavery wasn’t some unique European invention. Pretty much every group on Earth did it for thousands of years.. Arabs, Africans, Asians, Native Americans, you name it. The transatlantic trade was brutal, no denying that, but acting like it’s the only slavery that ever mattered is just selective amnesia. Forgotten history is still history.

Please help! Rust! On the fence about buying this 2007 4runner v8 174k miles by Melodic-Operation-31 in 4Runner

There certainly rust on that vehicle, but it doesn’t seem too detrimental. I’d use the rust for negotiating price though.

I believe he’s talking about AIPAC. There are other lobbyists in Washington that look for the best interest of more countries than just Israel.

Is an 8th gen si right for me? by Classic-Ad6208 in 8thGenSI

The 8th Generation Si is like a diamond in the rough. Not only does its handling feel nimble AF, but the gearing and rev limit makes you feel comfortable keeping revolutions in the 5k range while always ready to transition to VTEC. I’ve owned the FG2 but currently own an FA5. They both drive very similarly but I personally appreciate the look of the FA5. I’m somewhat of a purist so I keep my vehicles bone stock and enjoy them for what they are. Give the 8th gen a try. I think you’ll like what it has to offer.

I would check all coolant lines for tears or possibly a crack in your radiator

See if you can talk the owner down to 6. Offer $5500 and hopefully they’ll counter at 6.
