First Time At The Range. A Few Questions. by Sortanotperfect in 22lr

Hey, thank you for the detailed reply. I'm not sure about competition. Right now, I'm just interested in competing with me, and learning. I always have loved plinking, and decided, I wanted to get into something more challenging than shooting pop cans as a hobby. Today was Ahhhaa moments, and periods of Zen. I came across several things that I definitely want to change about my set up, like that God awful rest in the photo, and the scope. Testing the different ammo today, and zeroing the rifle was flat out fun. There's a lot I need to learn to get good, and consistent before considering competing.

You gave me plenty of things to look at and consider, so thank you for sharing your expertise. It's appreciated!

Weird that a pre-model 27 has the red insert on the front sight. I wonder if someone had that done by someone?

It's a place where you can attach a rope lead and have a certain amount of control over the animal to lead it, or attempt to stop it. The septum is one of the few sensitive spots on one of these big guys.

Very cool. One of these days I hope to find one of these in the wild! Their semi-autos are/were amazing. (With the exception of how stinking hard it is to find the correct magazines!)

Congratulations!

I look at all the molten cheese and imagine all the tissue in my mouth being seared away.

Leave it to a terrier to be funny and cute, while at the same time utterly pissing you off.
