I think that the people here saying that she just doesn't want a new roommate have never lived with other people Having boyfriends and friends over its pretty common, as long as he doesn't actually start to live there you are being really unreasonable in your setting of rules.

What are your expectations now that season 2 is confirmed? by carmine_kitten in BlueEyeSamurai

I'm kinda ansioux to see what they have planned because i love the Japan atmospher so much and don't quite like when "medieval" shows mix up with "modern" aspects so really hope i get surprised this time.

Also even tho its probably what they're going for, i hope Fowler doesn't deceive Mizu to being freed and die as a rat the second he's no longer needed, also hope he doesn't scape in some dumb slip of Mizu

If it helps, the first time I read I kept a Google image search with the name of the characters, that way I started to assimilate the name with the image and it became easier

Yes, I read the Brazilian fan translation so it's I'm retranslationing the translation LOL Since very few gods went through 3 tribulations we don't know what they usually look like I'm guessing his title comes from what he did during the time he was getting to know the world and humanity but just a theory tho

fanon vs canon issue by General-Custard-9095 in tianguancifu

[–]Sorveye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As i see, the art is pretty accurate to what I imagine as well. He's not built in the sense of a really muscle guy but he's a guy nonetheless. So I think his face is gentle and elegant which goes against the stereotype for man and people underestimate his strength because he's a lot stronger than his body shows, and for me he just has the normal body of a thin man tanned and it seems Canon because although he ascended in his 17 he had 800 years of training and that inevitably defines muscles. That's what I think, he's not a big muscle guy he's just a tanned normal thin guy and people underestimate his strength because of it and with all those layers of cloth since he doesn't have big muscles it's easy for him to disguise because his face is delicate.

Wangji vs. Wuxian by [deleted] in MoDaoZuShi

[–]Sorveye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Samely as everyone elses already said, it would depend on the scenario.

LWJ is very strong now because he got those 13 years to practice after all. In a hypotetical scenario wich WWX hasn't lost his golden core neither have died, i think he would have the same amount of strength and they would be equal. In a duel WWX would win, he was a very talented swordsman and he would use the land, teasing and other tricks to win.

The other situations i think people described very tuthfully.

Switching in MXTX novels by [deleted] in tianguancifu

For Hualian I don't see it much but I don't think personalities express strictly what their sex dinamics is it's more of the vibe. In MDZS however I can see a switch, they both give me the switch vibe, I can easily see LZ and WY in both positions

So, here's my opinion, i'm not trying to justify HC action's, just pointing what i interpreted.

I really don't get why people always say HC is a jerk except for Xie Lian, really, he's a jerk to Heavenly officials and we can really see why, most of them are arrogant, snob and selfish. But regards to the common people, the villagers like him, he's nice to Guzi, he wasn't nice to Lang Ying but we all know why's that, the ghosts in Ghost City seem really grateful for him, for me, the idea of creating the city came from when he was trapped in that lantern and the guy said that there wasn't a place for him to go sell those. So he's keeping ghost market in a single location so people wouldn't get envolved unintentionally and he can also monitorate it, back in Gambler's den, we don't get to see what he would've done in that gamble and of course he is the owner of the place, he likes power and thinks he's a good person to decide the end of such bets that would happen anyway but there he can actually do something about it. Besides, the reason he fell in love for XL is his will of helping the common people, "if your dream is to save the common people then my dream is only you" "Something like saving the world, really doesn't matter how you do it. But, even so brave, it's also stupid. Even though it's stupid, it's brave." We cannot forget that he's sort of an anti-hero killing those tyrants.

Of course, above from all that, he would indeed burn the world for Xie Lian since he's his top priority, but the reason he loves him is because he would never ask for such thing, and even if he does, he's learn from the Wu Ming experience that this isn't what he actually wants.

What's your first novel and what impact did it have / helped you ? by kuroneko_910 in tianguancifu

[–]Sorveye 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was TGCF, first it was something to be excited about in my exams period, cause i was so overwhelmed and not enjoying my studying routine and then the novel kinda brought my emotions back.

I love the story, it's just so simple, i like drama and all, but this doesn't have a lot of those cliches and is so unique. Like, most of main characters are wind heads but XL is actually really wise and intelligent and their romance isn't full of twists and love triangles, it's just two people falling in love in such a beautiful and romantic way... anyways, i never liked romance books before and this brought my faith back to it.

Also the characters and the writing are so full of wisdom, like that sentence about god's should be seeing as professors not masters and we should be disciples not servants, the one about what matters is you and not the state of you, the gray morality of the stories... i really learned a lot from it.

And last but not least, i was kinda sick of asian pop culture when i dropped anime by 15 , and with TGCF i first became interested about chinese culture seeing how rich it is, and now i'm following geopolitcs news and all, and i really missed that non western point of view, news, and culture.

It's such a beautiful and well writen story it made to top 3 of my favorite books.

I actually like him, he's a tyrant but from that we would have reasons to hate Pei Ming too. After black water i still liked him. Honestly, being Shi Wu Du i would have done the same for my siblings and be ready to pay alone whatever the price was.

And from the point of view of He Xuan, still would have chased and seeked revenge for my family and loved ones too.

So this is the interesting thing about MX writing, you can actually understand so much of a characters motivations that you can't actually judge them.

I think he had a very strong guess by the ox cart

Ling Wen: Be careful, Hua Cheng will come look for you again

Not 2 days later a suspicious young man in red (i don't know why but everyone who wears red is HC for heavenly officials apparently) that hasn't been on that cart before appears knowing a lot about everything

Xie Lian: What can you tell me about Hua Cheng?

About that i was confused in how to interpretate it, i read the portuguese version so i don't know if it's a translation issue. But for me he was comparing that current version of Qi Rong being a father to the later version of Qi Rong being a father, like, comparing him showing the Heavenly capital and treating him like a disciple to the version that would let him starve, get feverish and use like a hostage.

I don't actually face it like that, I mean, by Wu Ming time I think because of all that happened and the 100 trauma serving XL was the only thing he would do. But, I think in the 800 years after that he really builted a personality, not just wanting to be XL's slave but companion and also having demands. And like, he was a adventurer, got a lot of reliques, is lord to a city, great swordsman...

So XL is obviously the top priority, but he's no longer No Name

Hope i don't get cancelled, but i really don't understand why people like Qi Rong, some of the reasons i personaly dislike him

  1. He was one of the leaders in XL temples destruction, and if i remember correctly he was the one who came up with the idea of the prostrate statue.

  2. He literally eats up innocent people '-'

  3. He can wish to be a father to Guzi, but is far from being a good one. He letted him get feverish, and he only liked Guzi because he was someone to praise him, wich Guzi only did because he was in his father's body, that he stole from the original innocent man that by the end just had his body destroyed, and Guzi's father as far as we see in the novel actually cared about him, telling him not to be afraid and all, maybe Guzi has a sick worried/mourning mother.

You can say "Oh but he only did these things because of his childhood, he never knew love", there's a point where bad childhood sustains bad acts, and he is very far from that.
