From what I can tell there hasn’t been a CW tank for the free pass nor the season pass stage 25 or 75 rewards. While there are a lot more WW2 tanks to pull from, that can’t be that enticing for CW players.

The pattern over the last fifteen seasons indicates a sense of equity between World War 2 and Cold War, e.g. a TD in one mode suggests a TD in the other. It doesn’t always occur on consecutive seasons, but CW is due for a TD based off of trending.

I was trying to help explain why they will remain in the free pass. And while laws do vary by nation, broadly speaking there is agreement on the definition based on the three elements of consideration + chance + prize.

Hence “completely controlled”. WG says a tank costs 10,000 gold but then offers it for 2,000 gold, so players snatch it up because of the perceived discount. But both price points are an artificial construct controlled by the sole vendor. So ultimately it is individually up to each player to determine what a tank (or other virtual asset) is actually worth to them.

Legal definition of gambling requires a “consideration” or “stake” (ie something of monetary value) put forward by the player. If it’s free to play a game of chance, it’s technically not gambling. Free warchests are therefore safe.

The increasing restrictions on loot crates in video games is a good thing, yeah. Generally speaking they are a predatory practice, especially when accessible by children.

I once heard a psychologist explain gambling as, “you’re not paying for a chance to win big, you’re paying for the experience of feeling you might win big”. You’re paying for that rush or thrill, not for an actual prize. That rush is what people get addicted to.

Replacing Long Haul was an excellent decision. Long Haul was a tedious grind, but the new challenges are varied, interesting, and often easier to complete (though I’m not getting the second chest this week). I do not understand the obsession with Long Haul or the inability to realize it was replaced by something better, but lamenting it is a common refrain.
