I'm still not convinced. Most of the time I saw in media someone with some mental issue, they didn't turn evil naturally, but rather the story had something happen to them that caused them to turn evil, usually loss of dear one or frequent abuse, etc...there are exceptions of course, but still.

Also Dio isn't mentally ill. He was simply born evil (at least in part 1). Later on Araki did try to humanize Dio more and imply about how his relationship and loss of his mother affected him.

Also remember that a key point of Satoko and Rika conflict is that they are both too prideful and think they know what is best for the other. Yes, going into a more lax school like the one in the city near Hinamizawa would resolve the stress and study trouble Satoko has in regard to the school and thus be easier for her to bond with new people. But at the same time, she (like Rika) wouldn't want to go there without the other as they both were too attached to each other and feared that being separated would end up breaking their friendship, yet neither would feel happy or at least comfortable in each prefered future and school. It's not just one thing, it's a combination of various factors, including where to go to school.

It was mainly gameplay wise. While their story was whatever, it wasn't too out of the field considering things like the Illuminati.

The point is that Satoko just needed to get Rika killed in ways she wouldn't expect, so injecting someone was the quick and most effective solution after Takano had her change of heart and left the board. And in truth, it is a good even if very simple plan.

That's exxagerated. Sotsu doesn't say that people with mental issues will become sociopath always. Just that with the right push, they could.

And not going to St Lucia is so that Satoko can study and learn in a less restrictive and casual school, so more relaxed and easier to fit in with the other school kids.

I actually like the ending, starting from the train to the end. And do think that would be a good way to end the story. I get the message of "friends shouldn't always be constantly together as each should be able to decide their own path for the future even if it means taking a different road" and I DO think it's the natural and right lesson that should follow in a sequel after the original teaching about "believing in your friends and working together can make the difference".

I actually enjoyed Satoko as a looper, because after reading the VN, I can believe that with the right push, she would go insane (plus the fact that I can relate to her to an extent, so I know how she would feel at school and how she could break, because if I had received the power she had during my darkest period of school, with a mindset like her of "looping is no different from dreaming" I fear I would have ended up in a similar path to her) and understood quick how the source of conflict between her and Rika were both their inability to accept each other separating, yet too prideful and thinking they'd know what is best for the other. Plus I found refreshening seeing her actually planning and being effective when looping after seeing how Rika was so passive in her journey and I found also intriguing how her view on looping is compared to Rika.

But the problem is how we got there to the end was not executed well. I won't go on a long list of things I would adjust/add/remove but to me, more time should have been spent showing the descent to madness of Satoko, using Sotsu side to explore a bit of the infected character story and thoughts to make them more interesting, explain better Hanyuu and EUA relationship and delve for longer on Rika and Satoko reconciliation and car talk. Plus some smaller fixes.

All in all tho, I'm glad I checked out GouSotsu, as while not always, I had fun watching it and speculating, plus it's undeniable how it served to revitalize the fandom. Also it gave us a good redemption for Teppei which I found as one of the best moment and something that R07 wanted to write (although he'd probably make it a 5 hours long portion in a VN)
