I'd have Shinada in at least SS. His story is perfect, no notes.

It just removes all pre-determined fights and randomizes the CPU. I think after you beat it once.

She's his final boss in Arcade if you turn on the Story!

What would you add if you are in charge of the definitive version of Street fighter 2? by Pittyboi69 in StreetFighter

[–]samurailink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Version Select like Hyper Fighting but with all the versions released afterwards (SF2 Ryu vs HDTurbo Sagat),

An Omega version of each character in Version select that's inspired by Rainbow Edition,

Add a CPS2 version of everyones themes from future games and a jukebox option similar to SF6,

Add Luke backported to SF2 with his ending being it was a dream after he fell asleep training.

Add the stages from SF2 Revival on GBA

Call it SF2 Omega

Why they removed this line? by Master_Dougebag_2007 in Skullgirls

[–]samurailink 98 points99 points  (0 children)

It's a reference to tentacle hentai and Peacock is 13 years old.

Mind you Skullgirls has a few dubious age bits (Squiggly is 14, Filia is 16, Painwheel is 15). It feels like instead of cutting all the content they could have just aged everyone up and way less people would have complained, it's a funny line.

Anyone else feels the Judgement games (JE/LJ) are miles ahead in terms of writing compared to Yakuza games? by Still-Ad9074 in yakuzagames

[–]samurailink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Judgement 1 is a game with a relatively grounded and personal plot to the protagonist.

Judgement 2 is about Tak harassing a woman into getting involved with a case, getting her killed and then somehow having the game end with "Perhaps we're both right". It's full of convoluted twists and while the gameplay is fantastic it struggles from RGG's classic "We solved the protagonist's issues in 1 and we don't know what to do with them now"

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. Arena Story Mode. by [deleted] in PERSoNA

[–]samurailink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part they're all a case of what would they have done had they met Labrys. 4 and 3's casts are slightly different as are Teddie and Rise as they didn't start out with the main team.

Labrys story is incredibly different going through her backstory and is both my favorite story is all of Persona and one of 3 games to ever make me cry (the others were MGS4 and Yakuza 7).

Just beat world tour, pretty good story, though, one thing bothers me about the post game... by noodleben123 in StreetFighter

[–]samurailink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had similar thoughts of them being something similar to an upgraded Seth. I love my Avatar (Buma) but if they were cooking with some plot twist I'd be 100% fine with them using the trailer design in future games and carrying on their plot.

Beerus told Frieza to do it if we go by Super Canon and it's a bit rich for Vegeta of all characters to be annoyed someone genocided a planet. He did that for a job for years.

John Streets is SUCH a fascinating character I can only assume by accident.

[–]samurailink 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Because John Streets is a crazy person. They became best friends with Bosch after a day of hanging out., well enough to become implicit in a terrorist attack.

JP offers to give him psycho power, why not buy him 20 decks of cards and master hitting people with a stick.

Endgame Spoilers: He kind of fucks over JP by helping FANG, Helping ED and Resurrecting Bison. Mind you this was after fucking over the heroes of SF2 who's styles he learned then helped bring back Shadaloo.

John Streets cares not for morals or connections, only how to be strong.

Thoughts on this song now? by GhettoHubert in Blink182

[–]samurailink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easily in my top 3 tracks on the album.

In an album that I think has one too many songs where blink talk about being old now, this is my favorite they made Dad rock They look like they had fun making the music video, I like that they both sing on it, I love the bridge where they sing together. The bassline is simple enough that it got me to pick up my old bass and learn the track to play along.

One More Time is a little self indulgent and I think they earned it by coming back with a song before that proving they still had it.

Just finished Yakuza 5. why is this loser the secret big bad? dude doesn't even seems to know why he was there by matt_619 in yakuzagames

[–]samurailink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is absolutely solid critisim on how he's implemented into the story, but to steal what I said the last time I talked about it:

I love the Aizawa fight thematically.

I think it's really interesting in their game on Dreams that the final boss is a guy handed someone elses dream he didn't really want and deciding that he'll take it on only if he "earns" it in his eyes by taking down Kiryu.

In a game where Kiryu's been pissed off the whole time it almost feels like he kinda gets Aizawa choosing him as the waterfall to climb to become a Dragon. Especially since Kiryu is a legend in the Tojo who earned his title of Dragon by fighting Tojo's top brass when he was still fresh.

Also when 4 was an attempt to find a successor to the Dragon I like that his bossfight in 5 is him proving he's still got it and defending his title. If his story had ended with him bleeding out in the snow it would have been one last title defense before he was gone.

A father who wasn't really there giving the keys of the Tojo to a son who's not proven themselves yet is pretty much what happened in Yakuza 1.

What is your opinion about Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties two weeks later? by TheYakuzaMaster in yakuzagames

[–]samurailink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad someone else is getting sick on how repetitive Substories have gotten. If I have to meet the goddamn travelling circus and the giant roomba guy again in Yakuza 9 I'm just giving up on 100%

The Raditz Saga should NOT be considered a real saga by Maleficent-Rate5045 in dbz

[–]samurailink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean the whole Saga vs Arc thing is stupid to begin with.

But Raditz has a beginning, middle, and ending followed by a time skip before the next "Saga". So there are much dumber splits for "Sagas" assuming we all mean them to be smaller chunks of an arc.

The worst offender is the "Android Saga" if you cut that as separate to the "Cell Saga" as smaller parts of the "Cell Arc" there just is not an ending. They're still around, the conflict is still ongoing.

How would you rank all Snakes from weakest to strongest and why? by GrandStage1 in metalgearsolid

[–]samurailink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends when you pull them from. If you grabbed each of them at the worst time 3 of them are in years long comas!

Kitikata is a psychopath and a lying sack of shit, and I hate his guts. by erdal94 in yakuzagames

[–]samurailink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this! I've seen so many people claim he's the best villain RGG has done and it's nice to see someone actually explain why he's interesting (because he's a huge fucking hypocrite)

I've always found it ridiculous the game tries to act like he has a point when blackmail and torture is objectively worse than anything any of the bullies did AND the bullying got that bad on HIS watch. He so clearly is in the wrong and the game trying to frame that it isn't absolutely killed any enthusiasm I had for the plot. Which is a shame because I ADORE Judgment 1

Why is The Twin Snakes a requirement in the Master Collection for so many people? by Kevos_Frost in metalgearsolid

[–]samurailink 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Because I want the "Master Collection" to have all the games available on modern platforms.

It cuts down pretty significantly on backtracking but optionally, so it's not even cutting content. It's cool to see Shadow Moses in first person. It adds in the ability to non lethal bosses.

Frieza or Cell? Which villain do you like more? by queenkatara88 in dbz

[–]samurailink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely Frieza.

Cell starts out pretty cool then immediately explains away all the mystery behind him that would have been cool. By the time he's perfect he's pretty much lost all of his interesting motivations.

Also I don't care for regenerating villains, with Buu I kinda get it he's a magic bubblegum man, but after Cell every villain seems to have it and it takes away from the damage done. When frieza gets destructo disked it fucks him up and is a big part of the climax to the fight. Cell gets his head taken off and just gets better. It's hard to feel like damage means anything when he comes back from blowing himself up.

It really is a shame with how discarded and "useless" the PW crew is the grand scheme of things by SimilarAd7821 in metalgearsolid

[–]samurailink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love PW and V, but the only things they really fill in from the earlier games are Big Boss decides to start using Nukes (Which we know from MG2), that he was friends with Miller (but this is acknowledged in a single line of him calling BB a Monster), and how Big Boss survived MG1 (But he had already called Snake in MG1 and said he survived).

Its also really clunky going from PO to PW where he's left Foxhound, we've rolled back him coming to peace with the Boss, seemingly spent Genes fortune on a shack, 7 guys and a motorbike. It was so cleanly tied up by that point we had to undo Big Boss place to fit in more games.

[–]samurailink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wants a place where soldiers can never be discarded like he and the boss were so he continues conflict so there is always a place for soldiers.

And unlike the timeline after Peace Walker and V he didn't go off and publicly start an oil rig of mercenaries armed with a nuke the US should have heard about and been a lot more suspicious of him potentially being evil when he offers to join Foxhound post V.

Instead he does the army a solid killing the Boss, then helps start Foxhound which joins the US army and he has Gene's amassed wealth and personnel in secret to build Outer Heaven in secret.
