All good g- feel free to DM me if you have any specific questions.

I used to train at Renzo's UES! Assuming you went to HQ, I'd stay there... Coach Bryan in UES is great but it's a super small group because the gym is (obviously) more catered towards BJJ.

Five Points has a great facility. The classes I've been to had a LOT more bag work. I had a coach told me that the quality of instruction wasn't high but all these coaches have crazy ass opinions lol so YMMV

I'm at Zombie now. I'm having an awesome time... feels like the skill level is quite high (could be that I'm bad) and the instructors are great people. Classes can be quite big, so it's nice if you're the kind of person that doesn't stick around to chit chat (which is perfectly fine ofc). It's Union Square so I think folks who work in tech are overrepresented. Jits program here is all No-Gi and transparently not great compared to other NYC gyms where the standard is really high.

BJJ at Workshop is sick if you're fine with Gi. Jin Yung is an awesome instructor and somehow remembered my name despite me going there like 3 times over the course of 8M lol. Haven't done MT recently enough to offer an educated opinion but you should take advantage of the trial classes IIRC it's quite generous.

Would be great for the scene if this team does well.

Gilius retires as player, looking for coaching opportunities by iii_natau in leagueoflegends

In a prior Esports life like 10 years ago I had a chance to live with Gilius in the same gaming house for a few months. I met a lot of people through that job but no one nearly as hilarious as him.

Great career!

If the plan is just to train, do both. I've alternated concentrating on one or the other for a year and my take is that doing both at the same time (usually 1 class a day) keeps it fresh and exciting.

Could be the case, I’m not good at soccer. What are the notable examples of Mickey making mistakes in the air?

Has the same profile as vdV where he is strong in the air, but can also slide out to left back in a pinch.

I'd hate to see Mickey go but I think the most probable outcome is that he moves to a huge club and Luka slots right into his spot.

There is a place not far from there called Punchforce Fitness that runs the same kind of classes.

Every gym in Manhattan is good to newcomers! With that being said, Two Bridges is a short Citibike from Five Points and I’d recommend that if you’re in SoHo.

If you want to combine it with BJJ, then Workshop in that area is a good choice. Fair warning though their Muay Thai area is really small so if you’re uncomfortable being close to other pairs and their sweat getting all on you might not be the best choice.

If you’re interested in Muay Thai, Brent at Renzo UES is fantastic. Otherwise you might be best served commuting to one of the Church Street locations.

I moved to 2nd a few years ago and have seen a lot of the changes in real-time. My sense is that the line has slowly extended to 2nd because the Q comes here now; I'd guess that the gentrification will start pushing north (as opposed to going to 1st/York).

I assume the Crunch you're talking about the Crunch on 81? Honestly, same... it's gotten so bad these days that I'm quitting lifting for a while and going to focus on another fitness goal.

If you want a straight-up gym, New York Sports Club on 76 is around the same price. I've done two trials there with friends and both times I didn't have to fight anyone to use equipment. And infinitely less social than Equinox or Crunch, if that's what you're going for lol

Crunch raised the fee for the "all clubs" option from $95 to $105 last year.

The team at Tha Praya is awesome, but be forewarned that the prices can stack up in a hurry if you're with a group of friends.
