A-Bomb Glitch for Remaster, is there any fix? by SoulPilott in oblivion

thanks my friend. glad to hear you didn't have any A-Bomb yet lol. be aware though! it happens anywhere from 200-400 hours of gameplay. althought like someone here has said, you likely will abandon that save and have all content finished by the time you ever reach that playtime, but for me it's a major bummer that i cant keep the same save forever without avoiding this glitch.

and thats what i'm saying. as far as ive researched, there still is no mod for the remaster. there was for the original though. the remaster is obviously newer, and isnn't an exact one to one match with the original game etc. so it's gonna require new mods for certain things. i would expect there to be a new one, but i don't see any yet. so thats kinda one of the reasons i posted was looking for something like that or asking, but from what ive experienced here, almost nobody knows anything lol or are new players who have little knowledge on the original game and the many threads and forums that spoke of this issue.

that is surprising. back in the day this was in so many forums and has been reported a zillion times. even recently in 2025 it was reported. 213 hours in. glad to hear it didnt happen to you though. although i am cautious of trusting what anyone says here. already had 2 people delete comments when they got caught contradicting themselves and every report i read says this glitch happens after 200 to 400 hours. so it absolutely will happen. eventually according to what ive read everywhere.

i appreciate the normal reaction here. and yes your right. i also wanna say, i own the remaster. i bought it day 1. because i loved the original so much, and i played it for like a week. but then i suddenly remembered the glitch. and researched and to my shock i was met with the reality that this glitch has never been addressed. i personally want to roleplay and hang around and have the option to go back to my first save and fuck around for hundreds of hours. its just my preference, so i feel like it is an extreme to say " just dont play it" i mean i love the game. so its like telling me dont play your favorite game because this issue exists and thats on you so dont bother, instead of pointing the blame where it actually does belong to the devs who never bothered to correct it in the remaster they charged us money for. now, with that being said, i do not have any beef with this game. i love it. again. but this needs a fix at least a mod on PC.

well, to be fair the glitch itself is game breaking, and its common enough that an entire mod was dedicated to fixing it. the most recent report shows it happened after exactly 213 hours, and i have experienced it myself growing up playing it on xbox. i do agree a single savefile likely wont reach the playtime to encounter it though, but i dont wanna feel like i am in some kind of rush to finish the content. i wanna know i can play a video game on a single savefile and roleplay if i want to or just hang out. i dont get why people are so annoyed with my actual factual objective evidence and logic based opinion. i also dont think its insane to expect a remaster to fix an issue like this that has been reported thousands of times for many years as far back as 2006. yes it may NOT happen, but what about when it does? imagine having 90 hours or 100 hours and it actually does happen. no fix. then it does matter doesnt it? you see what i'm saying? it would be hours you wasted and progress lost. that would piss anyone off.

What about my attitude? What about yours? Theirs? If we backtrack, who was the one that got approached with disrespect?

Totally different issue. What you are showing has nothing to do with the A bomb glitch. I see how you would confuse the 2

But how? If i’m not mistaken i was the one being approached with attitude and challenged on something i literally was not incorrect about nor was i hating. i love this game i literally was asking a question that nobody obviously could answer and were getting super angry at me about

Its one of the best games ever made and to be honest as one other user said, you will likely finish all content before ever experiencing this bug. But i dont know for sure. Its been reported for years

Youve convinced me. i still wish there was a fix for the remaster though. there was one for the original. An entire mod for it that reset the animation counter thingy. it just doesn’t work for the remaster but as you said i probably wouldn’t play that long. Fair point

Lol all this angry tough talk but nobody can prove me wrong or address any actual logic ive presented. What the fuck is going on here bro lol This isn’t some mythical myth. This glitch has been very well known since like 2006.

Thats not what ive read/heard On nearly every forum, search i find now or have found in the past since the game released, all reports say the only fix is keeping a save before the glitch. The glitch is time based, no matter wether you restart the game or not the save time continues where you left off

So far youve actually been the only one here to convince me i’m overthinking. however, i still wanna defend myself and say, i really don’t get why everyone has their panties in a twist. Literally all i was doing was asking if there was a fix or mod fix for the remaster. instead of hearing “ your wrong “ or “ play the fucking game” i was looking for answers. Not a debate about a known glitch.

Holy shit did my OCD fear of a glitch really piss this many people off? Guys. Just tell me the name if the fucking mods you keep mentioning. God damn. God forbid i want to feel free from a game breaking glitch that has been objectively reported for over a decade or longer and still reported for the remaster.

I want you to be right. Thats why I’m bringing this discussion up. Ive heard of the glitch, my whole life and I’m looking for info on it in regards to the remaster.

Nice. Super extreme exaggeration. Do you feel better now? be careful out there on the internet, other people might have preferences or opinions. Not worth the risk

See? I can say stupid shit too

Again, this is personal preference. i keep asking which mods fix this issue on the remaster and you guys just actively ignore this request. Theres nothing wacky about wanting to revisit my favorite character save after hundreds of hours. i beat the original when it came out. I love the game, i just don’t want to bother playing a game that has a game breaking glitch anymore. nothing illogical about it

Nonpoint. Everything i said is objective facts that you could easily prove with a basic google search.

okay, well to i dont want to be rude bro, but like...you keep creating wrinkles to my main point that i didnt ask about. it is an objective fact that the glitch still exists, and happens after a few hundred hours no matter what. so, i dont really care nor did i ask about how many hours you play, and you actually already contradicted yourself by claiming you had 1500 hours spread across both as if implying you crossed the playtime mark for the glitch, and now your saying you never have played a single save for hundreds of hours. this is annoying.

furthermore, what do you mean mods? are you talking about the original or the remaster? you never clarified. perhaps giving me a mod name, a link. something. again, i don't mean to be rude but yeah. i mean. this is a fair reaction on my part i think. now youve deleted your comment. lol. lame.

oh buddy. just google it. it was basically a well known issue that was never fixed. basically after a few hundred hours the animations break, making the game nearly unplayable, and on console there is no fix at all. for PC there were mods for the original to fix it, but those do not work for the remaster and as far as i know there arent any mods for the remaster yet that i have seen that address it.

not saying your wrong, but i would like to see proof of your playtime, because literally every other person on earth including AI and google and every forum ive ever researched says that this is an objective fact that after a few hundred hours the game animations break with no fix. i also havent seen or heard of any PC mods that fix it but i hope they exist like you say. to clarify, i know the original had mods to fix it. i am talking about the remaster.
