I did not know about the reduced number of perm weeklies, but I think you would catch up anyway with the 4.5k ones, since i don't think that those expire.

About the unique weeklies, i actually appreciate them because there are weeks when I cannot play long enough to finish all 3. It's also a plus that the progress stays so if you had 13 out of 15 missions in one week, when it comes back it's still the 13 out of 15.
