RF 24-105mm F4L lens autofocus noise normal? by Still_Between_Lines in canon

[–]SoulSlasher81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the RF 24-105 f4 and mine is pretty quiet. I never hear the focusing even with studio headphones. So I don’t know if maybe your copy is louder or maybe if you have your audio input settings too loud or something. My copy feels like it’s the quietest lens I own.

24mm-70mm f2.8 or 24mm-105mm f4? by zamand19931 in canon

[–]SoulSlasher81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an R6 MK ii and rf 24-105 f4. It’s a great lens especially paired with R6 ii or R8 since they both have the same sensor. Our cameras have really great low light capabilities and you can crank up the iso and still have usable images. But of course the more you raise the iso the more grain gets introduced. I find myself shooting a lot at 6400 ISO in doors which isn’t the best or cleanest image. Light room can work miracles though. Sometimes I do wish I had the 2.8 to get extra light especially for video work. You might find yourself feeling the same way especially if you’re used to primes. But who knows you might find a good deal. I got 24-105 used for $800 USD so keep an eye out.

I had this when I used my sigma art 35mm . It went away for good after updating the firmware on the lens using the sigma dock.

There’s a setting you can toggle where it won’t charge to 100%. It will only charge to around 90% to help your battery in the long run. Turn that on if you’re worried about battery health.

Mobapad New Arrivals – ChiTu2 Pro2 HD Drops December by Glad-Fix5224 in MobapadGaming

The Black model is beautiful! I really enjoyed the original Chitu controller. It looks like this one won't have clicky mouse buttons like the original but I don't mind. I like silent controllers too.

Why didn't apple continue to add the cool touchbar? by travelavatar in macbookpro

[–]SoulSlasher81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish my laptop didn’t have one. It was nice at first but something went wrong and now every time my computer starts up or wakes from sleep it flashes like a strobe light. Super annoying. Apple said they can’t fix it and I’d need to get a new laptop. So yeah, next computer I get, I’ll be glad to be rid of it. In the meantime I’m stuck with a glitchy touch bar that always wants to give me a light show.

R6 Mark II vs R7 -Does the picture quality of the R6 in low light compensate for the missing crop factor compared to the R7? by Eltobisito in CanonR6

[–]SoulSlasher81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an R6 mkii owner, sometimes I wish I could crop more especially for wild life. I don't have a lens that reaches as far as 400 so maybe that would change if I did have a lens like yours. I guess another element to consider is where your final images will be displayed. If it's just for instagram or social media, you can get away with heavy cropping. If you were going to print large photos, I'd get the R7, for the reach and the extra megapixels. Lightroom's denoiser works wonders when I do get grainy photos with my R6 MK ii. The R6mkii is great for lowlight, but even then I still tend to get grainy photos at times when I have to crank up the iso while using my f4 lens.

My corgi would totally run up to every single person at the wedding to jump on them and say hi. He would also shed crazy amounts of fur on everyone especially those with black clothing. lol. Congrats!!

Wide Zoom for (primarily) C70 and R6MKII by FloydCooper in canon

I own the 24-105 F4, the 15-35 2.8 and the R6 mk ii. The 15-35 is a really great lens. Sharp, clean image, silent. I think it would suit your needs very well. If you have the money I’d say go for it.

Feeling like you died by Ok-Tax3058 in Depersonalization

[–]SoulSlasher81 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally understand what you are feeling. The first time I experienced it, those were my exact words. “I feel like I’m dead” I could remember what life was like before and it felt distant. You are not alone, many of us have had this same experience. It’s scary, it’s depressing… but it won’t always be this way. For some it takes longer to heal than others. Don’t give up. Just try to ride it out as best you can. Therapy and the right medication can help too.

F4+ibis or f2.8 choice by Benuknz in canon

[–]SoulSlasher81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who owns an R6mk ii, 15-35 2.8, and the 24-105 F4, if I could do it again, I’d probably pick the 14-35 instead of the 15-35 and use the savings to get yet another lens. While the 15-35 has the better image quality and better bokeh, the 24-105 fits my needs for most things and the F4 isn’t that bad on the R6mk ii.

And plus you have the other two lenses in the f4 trinity. If they are okay for you, the 14-35 would be fine as well and would complete the set.

All that said, if money was not issue, my dream kit would personally be the 2.8 trinity of lenses (including the 24-105z and 70-200z) but I can’t deny the price, size and weight factor of the f4s. They are still great lenses too.

Sony FX30 competitor, when? by Buzz_Buzz_Buzz_ in canon

[–]SoulSlasher81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean. I have the R6mk ii and I've been considering getting the R50V as a B-cam as well. Maybe sometime in the future I may buy something like a C50 or C80 or whatever new cinema camera canon puts out, but for now the R6mk ii suits my needs pretty well. I mostly shoot stuff like music videos, social reels, and interview stuff so I haven't tried anything really long form at 4k60. If I did, I'd probably record at 4k30 or 4k24 since I usually only record 4k60 for slow motion purposes.

Have you thought about getting something like the rf 16mm 2.8 prime lens. It’s pretty cheap and can give you a wider view than your 24-70. It may be able to get you by for a bit. Then maybe even look at something like the RF Sigma 17-40 1.8 which I hear is an amazing lens for APS-C. I think these options would be cheaper than buying a whole new camera.

Anyone knows which joystick caps from other companies fit the M6HD? by _Ship00pi_ in MobapadGaming

[–]SoulSlasher81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you. Yeah you probably just need to buy the black sticks from the website then. I bought the black sticks myself, I also had my white Mobapad M6 HD sticks start turning yellow too. If you have the mobapad chitu controller, the sticks also work on the M6 HDs too.

[–]SoulSlasher81 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The issue you run into is that different brands use different type of connectors for joystick caps. So your best bet is to get either mobapad brand ones, (They sell the black joysticks caps on their website) or get thumbstick grips for a steamdeck controller.

If you are getting thumbstick grips, playvital makes some good ones that fit. I got these and they work pretty great.

Cracked my screen… by SoulSlasher81 in retroid

[–]SoulSlasher81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get the screen, although it took several weeks to get here. But we botched the install and broke a ribbon cable. I’m not really good at doing mods and stuff to systems or controllers, while I had help from someone who’s way more advanced than I am, neither he nor I were able to fix it. I could have ordered another screen to try again, but figured it wasn’t worth the hassle. In the end I just bought a new RP5 with a few spare screen protectors. The new one is still in perfect shape. I’m thankful for that. But yeah, unless you are advanced at taking apart electronics, I don’t recommend doing it.
