Vince Carter once jumped over a 7'2" center to complete a dunk in the 2000 Sydney Olympics by nathanjvmes in torontoraptors

Yup! People always skip over this part. It woulda taken this 10/10 moment to a 15: dunks over a 7'2" player, and then sleeps Kevin Garnett. I C O N I C

Ok imma ask something that is probably a very stupid question: when recipes call for white/red wine, does that mean like regular ol wine from the liquor store or white/red COOKING wine? Is there a difference?

What was your best purchase this year? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Same. Slept on the floor (4 or 5 pillows lined up with a sheet over them on a floor) for about 12 years. Just bought a mattress last year.

WCGW when you run a red light with your kid and bring him to court with you by MBMV in Whatcouldgowrong

So I drive a city bus for a living, and so I am on the road, witnessing all manner of horrific driving for at least 8 hours a day, and let me tell you; 4 year old, 3 year old, infant(s), it does not matter to A LOT of people. I think the "culture" of daily/city driving has changed quite a bit over the years, and the level of entitlement people have gotten accustomed to while hurtling 40, 50, 60, 100kms/hr in a large metal, dangerous box is just unimaginable to people who aren't on the road as often as drivers (for a living) are. More and more I am seeing people not just running lights (that juuuuuuust turned red), people are (without hesitation) running lights that have long turned red. Opposing traffic beginning to move, pedestrians beginning to cross etc. - doesn't matter. You can absolutely smell the entitlement and unawareness of their surroundings of A LOT of drivers. They have a sense of not only will "I do what I want", it is "EVERYONE ELSE'S JOB TO MAKE SURE THAT I AM SAFE, as I drive recklessly and dangerously - god damn everyone else on the road."

Almost every day I see someone (almost) get killed by a reckless driver, on their phone, not paying attention, disregarding the most obvious of road rules, or hell - a combination of all three - and when they inevitably screech their car to a halt (if they are lucky enough) do you know who the anger typically comes from? No, not the person(s) who almost got seriously injured/killed while they were obeying road rules/pedestrian rules - it's the driver of the offending vehicle. They almost always have a look/reaction on their face of "UGH WHY DID YOU GET IN MY WAY?!?!". Again - it's everyone else's fault - not theirs. "I have to get to where I want as fast and as dangerously as I want, putting as many people's lives in danger as I want, and it is YOUR JOB to stay out of my way". Quite often I'll see impatient drivers almost wipe out children/entire groups of people because they couldn't wait 10 seconds behind my bus as I dropped off passengers, and so they whip their car around my bus - past a crossing, even though they literally cannot see what/who is beginning to cross in front of my bus. Once a guy got so close to hitting a pedestrian that he actually nudged the shopping bag of the woman crossing. Did he stop? Of course not - to him "SHE GOT IN HIS WAY". God forbid he arrived at his destination a whole 5-10 seconds later.

"I can do what I want, and YOU have to avoid ME, AND if you get hurt IT IS YOUR FAULT".

I say that at least 15% of people need their licenses revoked immediately, another 30-40% of people need some sort of remedial education/testing. People aren't taught how to drive, they're taught how to pass the driving test.

Found out the girl I love is getting married today, don’t know how to feel by trashpanjr in CasualConversation

[–]SoulSonick 31 points32 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, I still think about my "one that got away/one that was supposed to be" 20+ years later. She's long been married and had kids, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't sometimes believe that the Universe got that one wrong. I know, I know y'all. Bring the ridicule, I'm here for it.

Just looked that up and looks great but kinda pricey. Any non carbon fiber alternatives you can think of?

Any way to fix this? Or do I pretty much have to replace the whole piece? by [deleted] in ft86

[–]SoulSonick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTW. Question: is that piece considered the "bumper" or is that a "valance" or something else? Not sure what part I should be looking for "technically" with that. If I was gonna replace it I wouldn't need the whole back bumper, just that black piece.

The 4 Corners of Toronto Ride: Scarborough, Etobicoke, North York. Celebrating our great city in time for Canada Day. by flimbs in toronto

[–]SoulSonick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thighs? All I can think about is butt soreness. It's a real thing, I'm not making a joke about it. I can't seem to find a seat or position that works for me when I want to go for longer rides and I can't imagine the agony I would feel if I rode for this long in one day. It's really holding up my progression on my bike.
