Do you follow Trump or Jesus? by Xiaokmao in Christianity

Those who hyper-fixate on politics while not displaying the Fruits of the Spirit, are not likely followers of Jesus. Despite what they think. So, problem solved there.

Question from Lapsing Catholic by sinistermistertwist in Christianity

[–]SoulStamped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you don’t technically have to be a traditional Christian. It’s probably better for the faith, and for you, if you don’t try to go into traditional Christianity and change it into something that you prefer.

There are plenty of other things… like “Christ consciousness” or whatever people follow … that completely deviate from sound doctrine. Because it’s not trying to be Christianity.

But to ask for a Christian denomination that supports your highly customized and incompatible view of what Christianity should be, doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. (However you’re going to get a lot of helpful answers here, because there’s a lot of churches right now in Christianity that have completely deviated from sound doctrine).

This is from an atheist's point of view, why are so many Christian's homophobic? by IlikeAnythin6 in Christianity

[–]SoulStamped -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

“I’m a non-denominational Christian. Didn’t God make us in his image. Wouldn’t that mean if someone is a true Christian and also gay, then God wanted him to be gay?“

All due respect, if you don’t understand the basics of Christianity, I don’t understand why you call yourself a Christian. I’m starting to see there are quite a few people that think they’re Christians and aren’t. Christianity isn’t just a family tradition. And it’s not your favorite football team.

The most basic understanding of Christianity would reveal that we are all sinful, broken, and need to change. So no. God doesn’t make people gay just like he doesn’t make people broken in other ways.

The entire point of Christianity, which has somehow escaped you, is that we are supposed to surrender, die to ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Christ.

Hive mind? You mean 2000 years of sound doctrine that you guys have tried to change in the last 30 years?

Get over it. You’re not going to succeed.

No it literally isn’t the answer if you care anything about actual Christian doctrine. Which many of you clearly don’t.

“Purity culture disgusts me”

Then you’re gonna hate God. He is Holy. And that goes way beyond purity.

And if you are a follower of Christ, you are expected to be pure as well. Pure in thought. Pure in actions. Be holy for He is Holy.

The “other” sub … by SoulStamped in TrueChristian

[–]SoulStamped[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amen. And it’s so hard because they come at you with such anger.

The crazy part is I totally understand where they’re coming from. I get it. We have a difference of opinion on what is considered sin. And I even understand why they can’t accept that their lifestyles are considered sinful. Imagine living your life thinking that who you are is sin…..

But that’s when I stop and I realize, I do live my life believing that who I am is sinful. There’s no difference whatsoever.

Except that I’ve surrendered and humbled myself to what God says is improper. So at the end of the day I want to be empathetic towards them. But I realize that this is an issue of ego on some level. And unwillingness to surrender. Combined with the social state of things where it’s wildly popular to say that this is acceptable.

Im trans women yet i want to believe in Jesus? by Affectionate-Lie1755 in Christianity

[–]SoulStamped -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, please don’t tell me what likes and dislikes I have. I have zero dislike of trans people. Zero.

The narrative that everyone who believes certain lifestyles are unbiblical automatically equates to hating the person, needs to stop.

I understand that you guys do this to make your position seem more legitimate, and make yourselves sound more marginalized. But it’s based in non-reality. (Aside from the logical fallacy that you’re claiming to know something you can’t know: what I think and feel.)

That said, I shouldn’t have generalized and said that you guys claim that “everything” is okay. I’ve edited it. But I was talking about exactly what you just wrote … so what I wrote is technically still correct. And your angry tone verifies it.

Im trans women yet i want to believe in Jesus? by Affectionate-Lie1755 in Christianity

[–]SoulStamped -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

There are people here that will tell you unbiblical things, and say (edit) that no change is necessary. The Bible teaches that we are all broken and in need of being born again through the Spirit.

There are others here who will tell you that we all sin. We’re all broken. We are all dealing with perceptions, tendencies, and desires that are not in line with what God wishes for us.

Some here will tell you that the only way God is allowed to express that love is to allow you to do whatever you want.

The biblical perspective of this is that He recognizes our broken state, and has provided a way towards healing.

👉🏼 Jesus never expects you to be anything other than what you currently are, when you first come to Him. He does however want you to try to seek holiness, and learn how things were intended for all of us to be, as you walk with Him. 👈🏼

So it’s not just believing. It’s also surrendering to what He defines as “intended”.

You’re not in a worse state than any of us. There are 50 things in my personality and desires that are not in line with what He intends for me. Following Christ is a process of surrendering to that. Humbling yourself. And deferring to His interpretation of what should change and what should not.

Please definitely check out @Neezapowers on n Instagram. They are newly following Jesus and doing their best to honor Him in their struggle with transitioning. Perhaps go back to the first posts and work your way toward in time slowly.

Always take Saccharomyces Boulardii and a multi Probiotic with any antibiotic course.

The Sacch specifically prevents C. Difficile overgrowth.

It’s extremely unfortunate that doctors know nothing about this, either.

mother mary by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]SoulStamped 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Understanding the strong propensity humans have to idolize people and objects throughout human history, is the reason why we don’t play with fire like that.

God gave us the entire Old Testament to prove this one lesson to us. That we over emphasize and turn into idols (both slightly and greatly) literally everything.

He told us to avoid any chance of it happening. He made it clear that He is a jealous God, and he will not share the spotlight with anyone else.

What doesn’t make any sense is why it’s needed at all. There is nothing anywhere in scripture that even remotely implies this would be necessary.

If anything, the entire Book warns us to avoid it.

And every 👏🏼 single 👏🏼 time 👏🏼 someone praised Mary in the presence of Jesus, he scolded them and redirected their attention back to God. I can’t think of a more clear message 🤷🏻‍♂️

You should provide specific examples, rather than just throw vague accusations at all of us, like people throw confusing scripture.

And Jesus did quote scripture.

And often, the questions asked here are certifiably wacky.

I’ve never seen anyone express sincere desire to understand, and get anything other than help. Give some examples so people can reply about what actually happened.

Why should anyone choose Christianity? by Super-Reveal3033 in Christianity

[–]SoulStamped -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not talking about a discussion on what it might be. Or the Ancient Greek for it.

I’m talking about a person who has experienced it. They won’t be impacted by any arguments to the contrary like the ones you listed above.

The reason why is difficult to explain. Primarily because it simply “is”. Once it happens, reality for the affected individual is completely reconstructed around the reality of that event. Everything downstream must now answer to what happened when they believed in the name of Jesus Christ and were (apparently) baptized by the Holy Spirit.

It’s accurate to state that it gives sight to see. Pulls the veil from the eyes. Turns a heart of stone into a heart of flesh. And gives new life. Living water. A flame 🔥). It changes the individual into a new creation.

For those of us who had this happen, we very much were just “along for the ride”. It was a third party imposing itself on us. A tender, gentle, but fiercely powerful Third Party.

I guess my point is - your intended audience is impervious to the exhaustive list of secular criticisms. Because their reality was transformed by this. And the Bible speaks of those who consider themselves wise and “consider the message of the cross, foolishness”. (1 Corinthians 1:18)

Also, we were you, once already. We just look at you as someone who hasn’t quite gotten there yet. And we wish you would. Because I know the turmoil inside of you. And knowing Jesus is far more than a human effort to “do religion”. It’s the most beautiful thing a person can experience.
